Post image for How We Wear Chunky Scarves

One of my absolute essentials for winter is a chunky scarf… in addition to being warm, there’s something comforting about being all wrapped up in one. Brigette always wears chunky scarves and looks great in them so I asked her to show me how she would wear a few of our scarves as inspiration! Post image for 3 Ways To Wear A Lace Maxi Skirt

UPDATE: This post previously ran on November the 14th but because we love this skirts so much, we wanted to bring it back.

Here at Free People we love statement maxi skirts, and when our Annie Oakley Lace Skirt came online it melted our hearts. We know that statement skirts can be quite overwhelming and can often be tricky items to style. Of course, if you’re going to invest in something you want to have multiple ways to wear it, right? I bought this skirt after seeing it online, but it is quite a bit more peach than ivory. I have been struggling to find the perfect color to go with it. Denim is nice, but a little too much the cowgirl look. Does anyone know if there is a way to dye it more ivory? Or perhaps a washing technique that will help?
Caitlyn -Dec 11, 2012, 9:29PM
Very beautiful! The layered fabric of the lace skirt reminds me of designer called "Naturally Bohemian"...If you have never heard of her look her up, i know FP would LOVE her clothing!

I love the way the outfit was put together and the different options given on how to put the outfit together with other things. this blog is similar to mine because both blogs are about the latest updated fashion. However, they are different because my blogs goes into further details on the different body types the clothing would be perferred on.

Post image for Biba, And How It Influenced My Style

I grew up lusting after Biba – Barbara Hulanicki’s fashion mecca in London’s swinging 60′s. The Rolling Stones hung out there, Twiggy modeled the clothes, and girls swooned after designs that Brigitte Bardot wore. Read more »

I love the belt shown in the fourth picture. Is it braided or dyed? It also looks somewhat masculine, though I love the effect. The Boho chic look has always been my preferred look for kicking around and running errands, attending casual backyard parties, etc. This belt reminds me of one I got for my boyfriend only weeks ago, a Jack Spade wingfield belt (http://www.jackspade.com/mens-fashion-accessories/mens-belts/accessories-belts,default,sc.html) that I quickly appropriated and began working into my early winter outfits. BTW, it's merely days until January and 2013; anybody know if the December book is still available?

can't wait to get my hands on this!

All of the outfits are great, but the tunic and glitter pants would be good for pretty much all ages and sizes, so that one is my favorite.

Ella, the truth about thigh highs is that you can literally wear them with ANY shoes! I personally opt for boots that are 2-3 inches above the ankle. Those are what seem to be most flattering on me -- maybe you should start there!

Post image for Office Style: Touches Of Red

Red always reminds me of the holiday season, it makes my heart warm every time I see this color around this time of year. Red berries, red bows, the traditional Santa Claus costume, red wine… the list goes on. This week for office style I was surprised to see a lot of girls wearing this merry color; from nail polish and red plaid, knitted cardigans, and little speckles to liven up a black and white dress followed by layered jewelry in bracelets and rings. It made us all feel festive and we loved it! Read more »
