Post image for Quick Trick: Remove Salt Stains From Leather Boots

What a beautiful thing snow is. Those soft white crystals fall from the sky, silently forming a blanket atop the earth. To this day I still marvel at the sight of it. But with the fall of snow, comes the addition of salt. Read more »

Very useful & easy tips to get clean leather boots and shoes. Workers wear safety shoes at very tough work places so it becomes very difficult to keep it clean from dirt. You told here a very easy way to clean it.

Cleaning salt off suede shoes from the website: Too much moisture will stain suede, so it’s best to avoid using a lot of water to clean them. Instead, try mixing a teaspoon of fabric softener with a teaspoon of dish detergent or mild laundry detergent. Mix both into two cups of lukewarm water. Then, grab a stiff-bristled brush and try getting as much of the salt off dry as you can — a toothbrush works well. Once you’re sure you can’t get any more salt off, dip the brush into your fabric-softener solution and shake off the excess. Slowly begin rubbing the bristles over the salt stain in a circular motion until the shoes are clean. Use a dry cloth to soak up any excess moisture on the shoe before allowing them to air dry.

Post image for Jeweled Beyond Words

A word is worth a whole lot more than just that. One word can bring to mind a memory, an idea… one word can make you feel. A picture may be worth a thousand words, but a word can also paint an entire picture.

Post image for Sneak Peek: January 2014 With Sasha Pivovarova

In my 4 years at Free People I’ve seen some pretty amazing catalogs… but to this day one of my all time favorites is still our April 2011 book featuring Sasha Pivovarova.  This ethereal beauty has such an air of grace and magic about her, and she just seems to float effortlessly in our clothes.  We were thrilled to work with Sasha again on our January 2014 catalog, and she’s the perfect model to showcase the fresh new trends for spring 2014.  What’s even cooler about this book is that it was shot at Sasha’s beautiful home, by her husband Igor Vishnyakov, giving us an intimate glimpse into her home life and fascinating artwork (the illustrations in the catalog were done by Sasha herself!). Post image for Shop-able Street Style From LA

When it comes to street style, this time of year over on the east coast, we’re covered from head to toe in cozy layers, jackets, scarves, and hats.  It’s so nice to see the contrast of west coast street style, where you can still see the details of the outfit.  These two looks are great examples of layers done well – something we can definitely apply during the chillier months! Post image for What To Pack: City Getaway

Few things compare to the feeling of exploring a brand new city. Stepping onto that unknown street – be it pavement, cobblestone, or dirt – you look around with bright eyes, letting it all soak in. The only familiar feeling is that of the clothing on your skin… and perhaps the feeling of unfamiliarity altogether. We’re dreaming of a getaway to a brand new city… here’s what we’re packing: Read more »

This is a nicely rustic (hat and suede jacket), but simple hip look. This outfit I imagine works very well for practical purposes in cooler temps without sacrificing chic style. Nicely done. Maurice Rene
