These beautiful drawings are by Hanna Müller, who has a really cute story on her blog about how she started drawing: When I grew up I did some serious attempts to write my feelings in a diary, it started off good until my brother ferret out where it was hidden. It didn’t matter how much I tried to hide it, he always found it and spread my most private thoughts to everyone who cared to listen. So I stopped writing my feelings down and started drawing what I felt instead. My pictures became my diary and still are. It feels nice to draw them away. So sweet…

Recently, one of our Facebook friends wrote in and asked if we had some photos of the Free People line from back in the 1980′s! Luckily for her, and for all of us, our Assistant Art Director Carrie was kind enough to put together this little video! It features items from the very beginning, when Urban Outfitters was just starting back in the 70′s and had one little shop in West Philadelphia, called The Free People’s Store. Then it moves on through the 1980′s to our inception as a separate brand, and evolves on to now! It’s really fun to see our development over time and look at all the vintage Free People styles! Enjoy!

These amazing footprints worn into the wood are real! Buddhist monk Hua Chi has been praying in the same spot each day (many, many times a day) for over 20 years at his temple in Tongren, China. Hua Chi is 70 years old now, and according to this article, his footprints inspire the younger monks at the temple.
“Every day I come here and every day I look at the piece of wood, and it has inspired me to continue to make the footprints myself,” Genden Darji, a 29 year-old monk in the monastery, notes.
I love these pretty behind-the-scenes shots from Australian Fashion Week! I can’t get the blue eyeliner underneath the middle model’s eyes out of my head! I want to try it, with a number of different colors. I think it might be something I’d have to wear out at night though, not so much of a day look… What do you guys think?

P.S. Do you think the big bun on the bottom model is all her natural hair??
I am so inspired by this project Color Me Katie created! She and her boyfriend traced themselves in various positions on black paper, cut them out and taped them up around Brooklyn! Then they waited and photographed people passing by when they matched with the shadows. What fun! Check out her blog here!
