in the spirit of the holidays and giving, we’re doing ANOTHER giveaway!
a lot of you have been asking about the beautiful display dresses in our new holiday displays. well guess what? starting this week, you can enter by clicking right here and filling out the simple form for your chance to win one!
each week on friday, we will pick a winner. we have four dresses to give away and one mini display, which consists of two of the felt snowflake panels and two sheer glittery booti print panels – inspired by actual indian booti prints. we’ll pick the winner of the mini display this friday, and then each friday after that we’ll pick a winner who will receive one of the dresses. the final winner will be announced monday december 27th, as we are not in the office friday december 24th.
you only need to enter the giveaway once, and each week a name will be selected at random from the entire list of entries.
PLEASE NOTE: the dresses are NOT meant to be worn. they are for display purposes only.
some of the dresses are embellished with pieces of glass and we would not want you to hurt yourselves :)
**finally, for those of you who do not win- you still have a chance to own one of the lovely dresses! they will be sold in our stores starting the day after christmas for $40 each, so stop by your local FP store to snap one up.**
good luck and happy holidays! xoxo
last weekend i made the trip out to longwood gardens for the first time in years… i can remember going there as a kid and not really appreciating the carefully manicured gardens that my parents would admire for hours. but this year i went to see the “holiday magic” display and even though i’m not the type that gets really into christmas it was hard to not get into the spirit when surrounded by lush greens, the aroma of roses and lilies, fountains, twinkling lights and massive, dazzling christmas trees around every corner.
if you’re in the D.C. area tomorrow afternoon, stop by our store at clarendon commons! singer/songwriter danni rosner will be at the store playing some tunes off both her albums, piano actress and on my way. that’s her in the above right photo, which i posted on the blog a little while back, rocking fp while shooting a video!
check out her website here.
ginger’s favorite part of the holiday season are the parties! whether they’re family parties with her loved ones, work parties or wild parties in the city she loves getting dressed up in her holiday finest and dancing till her feet hurt. christmas is an excuse for her to wear gold and silver sparkles, bright reds and pops of pink to her heart’s content!
spice up ginger’s christmas by giving her a shiny chainmail bag from our vintage loves collection or some dazzling earrings. our snake armbands will bring out her coy side and she’d flip over our leopard mini taco coin pouch filled with a necklace or ring and some gold nail polish. ginger’s already counting down the days till bikini season so get her started with the sophia top, which she can layer with other items if she can’t wait till summer to wear it. she’d love our body con easy rider dress or flirty little numbers like the one shoulder lace trim tunic. finally, the perfect accessories for ginger are some sheer socks to wear with her little black dress to a holiday party, a feather fedora and aviators!
i’m crazy about our collection of old west-inspired accessories. the colors are so beautiful… i don’t know what it is about turquoise and coral but it always draws me in. i love the idea of layering a whole bunch of these necklaces and bracelets. which is your favorite?
and here are the results from last week’s lookbook poll – only 6 votes separated the top two looks but the winner was look 6! i’m a big fan of that one :)
a couple of readers saw my stocking DIY a couple of weeks ago and sent in photos of stockings that they created based on the tutorial! i had to share cause they’re really cute :)
left: jeannie’s “charm stocking” with feathers and pieces of her own handmade jewelry.
right: a shorter version, from courtney – love them ladies thanks for sending in photos!
ah! loving these little magazine christmas trees and how easy they are to make! i saw them on the blog green eyed monster and thought it was such an awesome idea for using old magazines. i of course have a ton of free people catalogs lying around so i thought… why not? i decided to use our november catalog since its nice and thick and i knew it would make a great tree.
start by folding the first page over as pictured above.
next fold the same page over again, and then fold up the part hanging over the bottom so that you have a straight edge along the bottom.
repeat this step on every page of the magazine – i actually thought it was kinda cool to see how different pages looked folded together like a collage.
once all your pages are folded, stand the tree up and spread out the pages until you’re happy with how it looks! and of course, the more the merrier :)
good morning! we have a new graphic design assistant and she made these adorable holiday downloads for the blog – the smaller one is iphone wallpaper and the larger one is for your computer desktop. but as our graphic designer suggested (and i agree) it would make such cute wrapping paper, don’t you think? just print some out and use it to wrap small gifts!
click on the images to go to our flickr page and download them. enjoy!
she made a really cute card too, i’ll post that next week :)
meadow loves to spend the holidays outdoors. every year she and her friends take off for a cabin in the woods where they spend nights huddled round bonfires drinking hot chocolate, telling stories and playing songs on guitars and wooden flutes. they wake up early to watch the sun rise before exchanging gifts on christmas morning.
win meadow over with gifts that appeal to her creative side and connection with nature. the vintage peter max postcards would inspire her artistically, as would a journal to record her thoughts and dreams. she would love our western-inspired jewelry like turquoise necklaces and rings, the native gypsy cuff and meeko feather earring. The lasso pony holders will keep her hair out of her face on adventures and she’d love the gretta over the knee slipper socks because they’re cute, comfy and environmentally friendly. meadow wears clothing that is special and unique like her, and the fp one desert florals maxi skirt would remind her of a field of wildflowers. the fp one bandana tie halter has the creative details she is drawn to, and she would live in the desert peasant tunic. finally, tough accessories like a leather crossbody or hat that will last her a lifetime.
some visual candy for your friday… step inside our newest store at cherry creek shopping center in denver – the holiday displays look right at home among the rocky moutains!
the theme for this section is “moto diaries.” LOVE IT.
display boxes! i am always so inspired to re-create our store displays at home.
a display animal peeks out of a jacket pocket :)
and a couple of our fp girls try on the wide leg floral pants – cute socks!
three of our lovely new fp girls, sara, gena and marie… welcome to the family, fp denver! xoxo.
