Hi, I have to get a belt like that with loads of colours. I got inspiration from these pictures and then borrowed my flatmates belt, to do the outfit thats on my blog now. http://www.1yearof2hand.com/2010/11/where-is-the-summer/ Thanks for the inspiration and a great blog!

Post image for wednes-diy

for today’s DIY i want to show you guys how to make snowflake panels like the ones in our new store displays! it’s actually really not as difficult as it looks, it just requires a lot of patience and good cutting skills :)

snowflake-panel

image via design sponge.

these panels immediately reminded me of a DIY i saw a while ago on design sponge – the only difference being the material.  our team actually made ours out of paper first, and then had them laser cut out of felt.

IMG_0748

what you need: paper or felt or whatever material you want to use (this is a great way to re-use old scrap paper or junk mail!), scissors, and glue or tape!

start by making as many paper snowflakes as you desire, in varying sizes, patterns and shapes – because no two snowflakes are alike ;) if you’ve never made a paper snowflake before, check out this tutorial.

once you have a bunch of snowflakes, start gluing them together where they overlap, alternating shapes and sizes as you please.

i’m going to keep adding to mine over the next few weeks!

for best results, hang your panel in front of a window and enjoy the patterns the sun leaves on the floor :)

I love this so much. Where can I get mine laser cut into felt?
Caroline -Aug 27, 2011, 5:52AM
What I would like to know looking at these images is how did you cover the seats. As we have the same ones but in brown (fake) leather and I would love to put a nice fabric on mine.

chantal of cocorosa – i’ve been following her blog for a while now but i had the pleasure of meeting her a few months ago and she is seriously adorable!  if you want to know what she’s like check out this video on her blog. i love people who don’t take themselves too seriously! and she always looks amazing- i think she can pull of any look!

Post image for winter wonderland

our holiday displays are now up in our stores and they are so, so beautiful… like stepping into a magical forest dusted with snow,  where trees drip with crystals and shiny trinkets catch the moonlight and twinkle like stars…

from our display team:

this year’s holiday display was inspired by vintage snowy showgirl dresses mixed in with antique silver and icy blue trinkets. we have intricately cut snowflake curtains paired with sheer glittery booti print panels – inspired by actual indian booti prints. we wanted to balance the delicate dresses and panels with organic branches and rugged cardboard gift boxes.  then to add sparkle and pops of color, we added the neon melon crystal chains to hang in groups from the ceiling.

their inspiration:

and now here are the installed displays at our ardmore and king of prussia, pa stores! i actually drove by our ardmore store saturday night and it looked amazing with the twinkling lights in the dark.

Yellow bridesmaid dresses are great for summer and spring weddings because they add flair and class to your wedding. We're wanting to help save money, but still appear wonderful appropriate. There are certain styles of skirts that are appropriate for most office settings and those which are not.
fake tan bottle -Oct 04, 2014, 10:42PM
They might be a good fashion declaration at home however, not in Spain. So try to follow the tips aforementioned to get rid of the farmer’s tan. Back to your skin check, the first time you do the check be sure to take as many pictures as possible to show what your skin looks like.

Post image for thursday poll – edition 118

i’m normally not a big heels person but we have some amazing party shoes right now that i would absolutely wear if i could walk in them… which ones do you like best?

the velvet crusher peeptoe:

the sicily lace up heels:
19687789_010_a

the luna pump:
19750611_046_a

the foxy fabric platform:
19692169_060_a

or the victorian lace ankle bootie:

time to vote!

last week’s party lookbook poll had a huge turnout- i think the largest for any thursday poll! it was close between looks three and five, but five took it with 25% – i wonder if the cute pup had something to do with it? :)

Post image for november catalog chapter four: wee people

chapter four of our november catalog features our new line for little girls, wee people! as mentioned, this line is the baby of our director of design, who wanted to create a line of clothing for her daughter with free people’s unique aesthetic.  her daughter was her muse, and is also one of the models in our catalog. oh my Freda is so precious. It is very refreshing to see little girls clothing on little girls and not teen clothing sized down. Kudos to all of you for helping to preserve a child's innocence. Can't wait to be gainfully employed again so my grand magnificents (aka our grand children)can wear wee people fashions.
Noelle -Jan 07, 2011, 6:04AM
Hi! I am a student in fashion design at Parsons in NYC, graduating this May, and I love love love your Wee People collection! I have been a fan of Free People since the day I first set foot in one of your shops and it has been my dream to design for you! You can imagine how excited I was-- as I happen to be specializing in children's wear!-- when I saw my favorite brand came out with a children's line! I was wondering if there was anyone I could contact from the Wee People design department to submit my resume and portfolio to? I would really love to be a part of the team!
