last week’s poll was all about feather accessories and the winner, with 28% of the votes, were the lovely feather earrings – nice choice!
this week we have an awesome selection of patchwork items that i am loving…i think it’s really cool how a couple of these styles are one-of-a-kind – each with their own unique wash and patches of fabric collected by our designer in india. which do you like best?

we just opened a store in toronto, and for all you readers that live there, here’s an art exhibit definitely worth checking out! it’s a group exhibition presented by 01 magazine – we’ve posted about a couple of the artists involved before (david horvitz, jennilee marigomen) and they’re ridiculously talented. today i wanted to post some of the work of alexander binder because it reminds me so much of our tangerine dream imagery…and it’s just pretty awesome:
more info on the show here.
very exciting news! we just opened a new free people in toronto’s hudson bay flagship store – the first fp in canada!
free people officially launched its 1,000 sq. ft. hardshop on the much talked about contemporary floor, which houses brands such as opening ceremony, McQ, LnA, halston heritage, tucker, catherine malandrino, vena cava and doo ri.
reflective of our creative roots, this shop is truly one-of-a-kind. it is a beautiful blend of modern and vintage, mixing the earthiness of our teak tables and cane globe lanterns, with linear designed wood and metal racks. our fabulous team of artists worked their magic, painting columns and back walls with gorgeous green flora and fauna, creating that special free people experience that keeps our girl coming back for more!
canada is big country, so stay tuned for more exciting free people launches where hockey may be golden, but sparkles and crochet will always be the way to a girl’s heart.
xx

so last week i asked about some of our cute sandals and the results were very close between the tahoe bootie, mindy beaded, and folklore sandals, but the tahoe bootie sandal came out on top. those are my favorite too! i think i definitely might have to get them.

when i posted the photos yesterday of our chicago visual mit’s puppy wearing an fp scarf, a reader wrote in “ohhh polaroids. when will they be back?” funny you should ask…i just heard earlier this week that the impossible project (which has been working tirelessly to bring back production of polaroid film) has encountered some problems that are delaying the project’s timetable. they were planning on holding a press conference this past monday to announce what the future holds for polaroid film, but that event has been postponed until march. i will keep you all posted!
in the meantime, check out the impossible shop where you can still find rare analog polaroid products.
the above images are from the flickr group “save polaroid”, which consists of thousands of self-portraits sent in by polaroid film lovers in an attempt to save the special film.
