Hi! I could have sworn I've been to this website before but after checking through some of the post I realized it's new to me. Nonetheless, I'm definitely happy I found it and I'll be bookmarking and checking back often!

How do you find local bloggers? Like, how do you search for that? I've tried but couldn't really figure it out! I too have recently moved to a rural area from a city & would like to find some good blogs/bloggers for my area too! thanks! Also - I've heard of this site meetup.com for getting into groups - haven't tried it yet myself but have been meaning to! Good luck in your search for grown up friends! I'm sure you'll find 'em!

Post image for Book Club Meeting: The Power Of Now

How is everyone doing with The Power Of Now? It’s a challenging read in that it really makes you think, and it’s helping me a lot to write about it here and read your comments and thoughts – I hope it’s helping you guys too.  At this point you may be frustrated…I know I was at first. All this talk about being present, but what is it? Read more »

You guys should try out Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro sometime. It's pretty much indescribable.
Bailey -Feb 17, 2013, 11:48AM
YES! Being Present! I love that. I'm a theatre major and an aspiring actress and our mentors are all about "being present" on stage and in life. One of my teachers said, "the mind is a chattering, drunken monkey. It wants to pull you into the past and yank you into the future. You have the power to control your mind: breathe. The breath centers you to this moment. The breath is a gift. And as soon as your receive it, you must give it away. And when you give it away, you get another breath." All focusing on "now", "this moment", "the present". Just thought I'd share some of the wisdom I've been given with all of you wonderful folk!

Post image for Love Letters: Common Courtesy

As those of us in the dating world breathe a big “Valentine’s Day Is Over” sigh of relief, we can get back to the task at hand: Dating in the current text-only, online-crazed, casual romantic landscape. Today’s questions address some current issues, and I hope I’m able to shed a little light on a few dilemmas I’ve dealt with personally in the past. Read more »

thought I was the only one getting furious about being sent only text messages or even worse FB inbox from my date :/ I totally agree with you, if he is really into you he will quit the habit! xxx roubalita

Post image for Mastering The Art Of Meditation

I have always been intrigued and curious about meditation and how to actually master it and let all your thoughts run free. I’ve touched upon mild meditation briefly in my yoga class but I have never been fully successful at it. I find it incredibly hard to not think of anything at all and just let go, it’s virtually impossible. So like most of us I enjoy being challenged and want to conquer the art of meditation. I feel in a world where everything is so constant you always feel slight anxiety that you’re missing a beat. Read more »

Post image for Beautiful, Century-Old Valentines

I have always been a sucker for all things antique: furniture, clothing, decorations. They allow me to imagine a world where attention was paid to even the tiniest of details and life was just simpler. The Free Library of Philadelphia has a special section called the Print and Picture Collection, which is overflowing with old photographs and prints, as well as postcards, trading cards, magazine clippings, and so much more. I found out from our creative director that they have an entire collection of old valentines, and I couldn’t wait to go. Read more »

This is a topic which is close to my heart... Take care! Where are your contact details though?
Melanie -Feb 16, 2013, 3:41PM
oh my god….. I have been there with question #1. Not even kidding. So I started to see this guy. I would say i'm heading out for the weekend….see my family or something and he would be like "well what am I supposed to do when your gone" Not in a cute way of joking/firlting…. like REALLY what am I going to do….So I just told him in a nice way like we should have 'you and I' time then 'individual' time, and he didn't get it. It has been almost a year and he still texts me asking to hang. Some guys are too pushy and do not understand how to be alone for a weekend. :/
