I made these tonight. They look great but taste pretty bad. Nothing like candy corn or cookie dough for that matter. Gonna try some other recipes.
Rosie -Oct 30, 2014, 5:02PM
Has anyone actually tried making these? A lot of comments, but not much feedback. One thing I like about candy corns is the honey-ish taste. Jelly Belly (Goelitz) makes egg-free ones, but not vegan by any means. This post says they taste like cookie dough, which I wonder if that's close to candy corn flavor or if it's more about the look and texture being the same?

Farm BusI have to admit, it started with the bus. It’s not everyday you see a gorgeously painted, 1987 school bus stocked with vegetables and local Virginia products, so when you do, you stop to get the full story. You just do.  Read more »

This is simple to make and turns out well. That said, I substituted cardamon for the cinnamon and chocolate chips for the nuts. A repeat recipe!

If I don't have a skillet, would a regular glass baking dish work? Thanks so much- looks great!

Post image for The Benefits Of Bitters

Bitterness. It’s not a flavor held in high regard. Never does a menu boast a delectably bitter appetizer, and never do you hear about a friend’s amazingly bitter dinner. It’s not necessarily the palate’s deepest desire, but it is a flavor that indicates great health. Little do most people know, humans are designed to eat bitter flavors. In this post, I will give the rundown on bitter foods, and why we should be including them in our everyday diet. Read more »

I love this post, I bitters before my breakfast, it has really worked for. but I learnt that you do not have to it all through the year. You need to give a week or two weeks break, or even one month break if you are taking the tonic to avoid kidney problem. thank you.

Leisa -Oct 06, 2014, 10:52AM
I turned out soooo good! I mixed the sauce with the apples first, then placed on the crust. I would say it turned out more like an apple crumble than pie, but super delicious. And it felt good eating it. No guilt. Thanks!
