Our visual display intern came in today with a brand new puppy and I fell a little bit in love. Her name is Cinnamon and she is a vizsla (aka ridiculously cute). Look at those eyes!
This week’s office style is dedicated to one of my favorite FP girls: Lou. The awesome thing about Lou is that she’s rough and she’s edgy, but she never loses a touch of sexiness. The look is for a girl who’s on the run and active. She doesn’t have the time to be high maintenance, and can’t stand things that will restrict the adventure. She loves to steal items from her man – bulky tees and grungy tanks never looked better. Pants and shorts are her go-to, and there’s nothing like a good pair of boots or sneakers. Once in a while, she’ll mix it up on you and throw in that feminine touch to remind you that, after all, she is a lady.
There’s nothing like a good pair of faded sneakers, get the look with our Muddy Waters Sneaker.
The Love Bug Thermal and Buckle Ankle Back Boots paired with skinnies make a great laid back Lou look.
Nothin like some good elbow patches…

I’m seeing a trend with our Buckle Ankle Back Boots…
Lou loves motorcycle jackets! Get the look with our Vegan Leather Jacket.
Love the jumpsuit paired back to sneakers. Get the look with our Linen Striped Romper and Bowie Wedged Sneaker.
This week’s Style File always manages to look cute, but is never too fussy or over the top. Overall her looks have a simple beauty to them. There’s a definite Lou vibe coming through in the practical and cozy looks she gravitates towards. The look is usually centered around one knockout piece – a scarf, an awesome dress, or a pretty slip. She’ll then through the Lou vibe for a loop with some Candy thrown in there in either a feminine print or flirty lace and ruffles.
Throw a cozy sock on under your boots to live out the rest of the winter season.
Get the look with our Bikini Ankle Crop Jean, the Fishnet Long Sleeve Top, and a pair of tall boots.

There’s a distinct trend in fashion that has been extremely noticeable around the office these past few months. Employees are embracing their feminine side with a look marked by retro-inspired blouses, peter pan collars, and oxford shoes. The flouncy shirts of the 40’s and 50’s are getting their second life – coming back styled with the coolness of inspirations like Alexa Chung. The retro look couldn’t be more refined and sophisticated, yet adventurous and hip at the same time. We like to pair the lady-like retro pieces back to jumpers and floppy hats for a look that we love so much, we’ve launched a new FP Girl inspired by the trend. Stay tuned next week to learn all about her, but for now, here’s a bit of ladylike and cool inspiration from around the Free People home offices…

I love quirky little details… today I kept noticing little things that made an outfit unique, like a little bit of leather on a denim shirt, pairing a vintage tee with a sequin vest, adding suspenders to the basic denim and tee, statement collar necklaces, striped denim and leopard, neon bracelets – you name it, our FP girls are rocking it.
Dress down the fitted with daisies dress with a cool denim shirt.
The casbah necklace looks awesome with collared shirts!
You can find the neon bracelets in our stores!
Ruby rocking her “You had me at woof” shirt :)
This week’s style file is our Associate Buyer for accessories, who traveled to the US from England to work at Free People. Her style is quirky and avant garde. It’s full of color and pattern – often with a theme like neon or turquoise. I love the risks she takes. There’s no fear, and nothing is too outrageous. It is, however, always inspiring.
Get the look with our Marled Yarn Pullover, 5 Pocket Vintage Wash Skinnies, and Sugar Mountain Ankle Boots
Color coordinated in turquoise – try it out: Cala Bead Bracelet, Anasazi Epic Ring, London Blue Ring, Suwannee Ring, or the Hermoso Stone Ring
Get the look with our Heavy Knit Pieced Sweater in Mayan Blue.
The skull bracelet is available in FP stores!
Psst… there are some April catalog sneak peeks in there! Can you guess the location??
We’re getting sick of pants. All winter long its pants, pants, pants. Now, in the name of fashion, we’re rebelling. We’re pulling on tights for an extra layer, and getting out stowed away women’s shorts, skirts and dresses. For the last week in January “vs.” office style, I want to know – which winter rebellion look do you like best? It’s the shorts vs. the dresses….
Shorts
You can never go wrong with a good thermal.
Dresses

The Cropped Stripes Pullover looks great with this sparkly maxi skirt!
So in love with the Costas Striped Maxi Dress Look!
It was so fun photographing our Assistant Stylist for this week’s Style File. Her carefree spirit just communicates through photographs so well. Living up to her aura, she has some of the best boho pieces around. Getting up close, you notice all of details she piles on, and sneaks in there. There’s no such thing as less is more with her, but she makes it work. She’s a true modern day hippie – loaded with fringe, feathers, and bangles. There’s something about this girl that makes you feel peaceful and smiley.
