Normally I wouldn’t open a blog post with such a lengthy quote, but this combination of words had such an earth-shattering effect on me the moment I first read them and I’ve been waiting for the right moment to share them with you.

When I first came across "The Timekeeper" I was in an airport in Bangkok and the book just sang out to me. I had to buy it. I devoured the whole thing so quickly and I doubt it's possible to finish the book without havig to stop and think about the issues it raised. It's definitely up there with my favourites. x Erin http://louiseerin.blogspot.com.au/

I am so happy I somehow stumbled upon this post two weeks later. I spent my Thanksgiving putting some forgiveness out into the universe as well. In my case it was the messy end of a relationship--the kind that provides no explanation, no sense of closure. It had been really difficult for me to move on while all these loose ends cluttered my mind. It took me awhile to realize that holding onto all of that anger, confusion, desperate, twisted hope was only hurting myself, destroying me from the inside out. It was the most freeing thing in the world to pick up the phone, send a Happy Thanksgiving, hope you're doing well, and finally close that chapter of my life, on my own terms. Sometimes we weigh ourselves down expecting some kind of apology or payback for all the ways we believe we've been wronged. It's much easier (and much more worth it) to accept the fact that sometimes things happen to deter your path & hold you back but forgiveness is what allows us to move forward.

Hm, almost the same like my story but we still haven't talk yet. I hope my relationship with her like yours.

Thank you for this post, and for the reminder that it brings. This year, to help myself to recognize all that I have to be grateful for, I am participating in a challenge to post a photo to social media with the hashtag #greyscalegrateful. Here is a link to the original challenge. http://www.lightinmyhands.com/t-a-c-o-tuesday-gratitude-in-grayscale/ I challenge all of you to also post a black and white photo (or photos) of what you are grateful for, and use the hashtag. Let's get the reminder out to everyone! Happy thanksgiving!
