I'm really fortunate to have grown up in southern california. I call the beaches up and down the coast from san clemente to laguna beach home, and I grew up surfing, paddleboarding and running on beachside trails. My school has an ocean view, and i work on PCH at the best local surf shop. California has such a special place in my heart. Free people should definitely think about taking a trip down to San Clemente and Laguna Beach, it has the most magical secluded beaches, good food and the locals are always friendly.

South bay (socal's south bay) born and raised! I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful place to grow up. Although I love traveling, every time I fly over downtown, see dodger stadium from the air in front of mountains and the ocean in the distance, I get chills. It always feels so good to come home no matter where I've been.

Normally I wouldn’t open a blog post with such a lengthy quote, but this combination of words had such an earth-shattering effect on me the moment I first read them and I’ve been waiting for the right moment to share them with you.

When I first came across "The Timekeeper" I was in an airport in Bangkok and the book just sang out to me. I had to buy it. I devoured the whole thing so quickly and I doubt it's possible to finish the book without havig to stop and think about the issues it raised. It's definitely up there with my favourites. x Erin

Post image for 3 Lessons in Forgiveness

True story: I have a best friend that I didn’t talk to for three years. Read more »

I am so happy I somehow stumbled upon this post two weeks later. I spent my Thanksgiving putting some forgiveness out into the universe as well. In my case it was the messy end of a relationship--the kind that provides no explanation, no sense of closure. It had been really difficult for me to move on while all these loose ends cluttered my mind. It took me awhile to realize that holding onto all of that anger, confusion, desperate, twisted hope was only hurting myself, destroying me from the inside out. It was the most freeing thing in the world to pick up the phone, send a Happy Thanksgiving, hope you're doing well, and finally close that chapter of my life, on my own terms. Sometimes we weigh ourselves down expecting some kind of apology or payback for all the ways we believe we've been wronged. It's much easier (and much more worth it) to accept the fact that sometimes things happen to deter your path & hold you back but forgiveness is what allows us to move forward.

Hm, almost the same like my story but we still haven't talk yet. I hope my relationship with her like yours.
