I love the simplicity and beauty of these photos! I feel like so many of us are wrapped up in the work world and we forget to stop and enjoy nature. This gives me such a peaceful feeling, reminds me I need to make time for some sort of vacation this summer. Thanks for sharing!

Very beautiful and inspiring post. I also grew up in a small town very close to the sea so I know how heartbreaking it can be to see the beaches being mistreated, especially during summer when tourists come. I loved your story. :)

I love this post so much. It is so easy to get lost in the city and the concrete and technology and forget that we need to connect with our roots and nature. Your tips for keep nature in your home are really nice, and your photography is really beautiful - thank you for the post xxx

I try really hard to unplug on a daily basis. Although it's not always easy, I find that meditating for at least ten minutes helps to clear my chattery mind!
Kit -Apr 15, 2015, 2:30PM
While, it's something I still find difficult, what with my type-A personality, I find a quick drive out to the beach or the Everglades a good way to unplug and focus on the sounds of life all around that doesn't need batteries. When I have a weekend, I'll head down to Key West and soak in the unhurried atmosphere. I also travel a lot, so having favorite music, headphones, and my sketchbook on hand can help me unwind even in the busiest airports. I love that sheer blue skirt/dress in the 7th and 9ths photos (worn with the black jacket) what is that piece?

Thank you Rhonda! It looks like they are of the indian paintbrush family! Up north I'm used to a different version of the indian paintbrush. They have more and longer.less symtrical petals... not as rose like. These look cooler ;)

Love this. Especially the photographs! I completely see why you like cacti as a subject. Question: what did you use to edit the pictures? I would love to try it out.

This was incredible. I think it's so important to just be fearless and understand that everything has a consequence.

I love how you've explained your deeply rooted connection with nature and the greenery that surrounds you in Phipps. I always appreciate wildlife the most when it sharply contrasts with my daily "city life." It just puts it into perspective how wild our world really is. Gorgeous post!

I love, love, love Phipps! We go every year, twice! Christmas time is great too, its a completely different experience.

I always welcome the spring by spending as much time as possible outside. My morning cuppa is enjoyed in the garden so that I can enjoy the sun's rays and the birdsong!
Julie -Apr 01, 2015, 12:12AM
I tried pressing flowers and they can be beautiful decorations. They are a conversation starter whenever people come to visit.
