The VSCO app is amazing! I love it too. Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely downloading Snapseed and Moldiv.

I love all of these apps, when I want to do something a little more funky I add light filters/stickers from various apps and go to Effexy which has a melt effect to give your photo a more trippy look. I've also fallen a little for the effects in Glitche.

This is such a creative and inspirational idea! Its so important to be grateful for everything we have in life because we are so blessed! I need to take the time and revel on everything I have to be grateful for, and I love that this is just a quick little thing to do in the morning, but it can really impact your day!:)
Shelley -Jun 14, 2014, 10:30AM

Lovely blog post, simple yet elegant. It's the simplistic, beautiful things that bring about the best relaxation. If you don't mind, your words hit a sensitive spot for me. I am a sophomore in college and I consistently read the free people blog every morning. It has brought even more serenity and peace to my life and encourages me to live in the present. I have so many interests and talents. I love art, I enjoy music, I find peace in writing, and I am always capturing moments with my variety of cameras. In one word I would describe myself as whimsical. I hope to one day work for free people but I was hoping you could lean me in the right direction. As of now, I am simply majoring in things I love and enjoy. I am working on a degree in English and Agriculture with a minor in Education. I would love to be given the opportunity to intern for your company and show my passion for adventure, determination, and love. Free People represents pure beauty and I would love to be apart of that movement. This company has inspired me and so many young women to be themselves and find peace and serenity within the storm. If you could could give me any positive advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

You made me rethink all: the minutes when you are already awake but you can enjoy some more time in your bed just thinking about nice memories, the people you meet on your way to work; each with a different story, the cat sitting on the roof, the smell of the city, the sunshine on your window... The one thing I remind myself of every day is that I should try to keep all the moments and feel alive but your words were so powerful that I need to stop, take a deep breath and enjoy all. Right now.

Post image for Photographic Memories: Our New Graphic Tees

A little while back, the Free People home office employees had the opportunity to submit photos to be used as prints on a few of our new graphic tees. Three winners were selected, and the tees are now available online! I love that these tees have such a personal element to them, and I was inspired to find out more about the stories behind the images. Read more »

Post image for The Beauty Of Traveling Alone

This post comes from our contributor Kristen Hedges. Read more »

-Jul 23, 2014, 1:51AM
Have you ever considered what it is like travelling alone as a woman who in underprivileged....a woman who doesn't get a ride to the airport, a flight, a rental car? As a woman who has travelled cross-country by hitchhiking, freight train, and, when I'm lucky, the greyhound, I recognize that the serenity of travelling alone is tempered by a very real vulnerability. The problem with Free People is that they celebrate the whimsical free spirit without recognizing that getting to experience 'freedom' (whatever exactly that means), to be spontaneous and crazy and live an exciting beautiful life is made exponentially easier because of class privilege. The world isn't one big vacation for all of us, and the trade-offs of being a woman, travelling alone, can be pretty brutal.
Sjoukje -Jul 20, 2014, 2:38PM
Love this post. I am always with someone when I travel but I'd love to go Barcelona, one day, on my own. I have been there - once, and it was lovely, but I'd just love to explore, see, experience the city on my own. x www.lemontierres.com
