Thank you Rhonda! It looks like they are of the indian paintbrush family! Up north I'm used to a different version of the indian paintbrush. They have more and longer.less symtrical petals... not as rose like. These look cooler ;)

Love this. Especially the photographs! I completely see why you like cacti as a subject. Question: what did you use to edit the pictures? I would love to try it out.

This was incredible. I think it's so important to just be fearless and understand that everything has a consequence.

I love how you've explained your deeply rooted connection with nature and the greenery that surrounds you in Phipps. I always appreciate wildlife the most when it sharply contrasts with my daily "city life." It just puts it into perspective how wild our world really is. Gorgeous post!

I love, love, love Phipps! We go every year, twice! Christmas time is great too, its a completely different experience.

I always welcome the spring by spending as much time as possible outside. My morning cuppa is enjoyed in the garden so that I can enjoy the sun's rays and the birdsong!

I tried pressing flowers and they can be beautiful decorations. They are a conversation starter whenever people come to visit.

Here's a lighthearted suggestion. I have a theme song. Whenever I have a mild attack of the blues I make myself sing Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah. It's a song from a very old Disney movie, but it works for me. After singing a few bars I cannot help but smile. I enjoyed your post!

"For me, I think the most powerful takeaway has been self-awareness. I’ve become much more aware of my personal tendencies to escape from the present moment, and flee to a place filled with worry and fear." I think this is something I struggle with quite often. I'm a college student, a writer, and a musician, and sometimes things pile up. It's easy to forget the here and now and get trapped in that anxious space in your brain that is an ever-forming list of things to get done. Spend more time in the now, appreciating.... Great post. Great message. Warm Regards, Alyssa
