Post image for Tunesday: Phantogram

Back in August, I was at Outside Lands in San Francisco handing out Free People bags and fliers in Golden Gate Park when I heard the mesmerizing sound of Phantogram‘s music creeping up on me from a nearby stage. My ears perked up and didn’t stop listening until the band left the stage. Read more »

Post image for Vintage Loves Objects: The Wurlitzer

For our Holiday catalog, “Through the Decades,” our Vintage buyer rounded up some incredible objects to represent the different decades explored in the book.  And when it comes to the 1950s, it would be difficult to find something more iconic than the Wurlitzer Jukebox. Read more »

Post image for Tunesday: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

I like bands that are difficult to figure out.  The ones that can’t be pin-holed as a certain genre, and are nearly impossible to describe when someone asks you “what kind of music is it?” Usually that means they’re doing something different, and that is definitely the case with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Read more »

Post image for Tunesday: Wye Oak

A few weeks ago I went to see one of my favorite bands, The National, play at the Academy of Music. There were two opening acts, and the first one was called Wye Oak, a band I’d never heard of. We missed their set, but I was curious so I looked them up. Big mistake – I totally regret not catching them live. Read more »

Sooo happy to see a post on these guys. I live in Baltimore, where they're from, I've seen them a few times and they're one of my favorites. Glad they're getting the recognition they deserve!

I don't know if you've heard of them/her but you should check out Caroline Smith & The Goodnight Sleeps. It's a really awesome band from Minneapolis, and they're actually playing a show in Philadelphia at the The Balcony this coming Sunday (October 9th). Just thought you might be interested :) Keep up the lovely work, this is my favorite blog! <3

love this song! there are so many different elements within it! This song will be on repeat a lot I'm sure! Next week is Spirit Week for homecoming, and our theme is Decades. My grade (juniors) got the 60's! I'm really excited! I have decided to wear the FP One Floral Fields pants, but I'm not sure what else...any ideas? I figured I would do Twiggy makeup. :) www.forsurejadore.blogspot.com

Post image for POPPED! Music Festival – Our Favorite Shows

The general consensus at the POPPED! music festival this weekend was that it was kind of a bummer the location was moved from an outdoor park to an indoor arena.  However, on the plus side? The sound was amazing! We got to see some awesome shows on Saturday and FP Naomi got some great shots from the photo pit – here are some of our favorite acts from Saturday! Read more »

I'm seeing Foster The People in October, here in San Francisco, and can not wait!!! I'm mostly excited that I'm going to see them in an intimate setting rather than at a festival. Not that I don't think festivals are one of the greatest things in the world. :) http://dailydoseofsunlight.blogspot.com/
