Post image for Dream Festival: We Need Your Votes!

We’re right smack in the middle of festival season right now, still coming down from the fun of Pitchfork and already thinking about Outside Lands in August! We were talking about what our dream festival lineup would be, and we ended up with two (incomplete) lineups that we were torn between. Can you help us settle the debate? Read more »

definitely the second lineup because bon iver, fiest, the tallest man on earth, and first aid kit are amazing; however, if beach house was included in the second it would be perfect! :)

I'd go to Dover, because I have already seen Jeff Tweedy, and as cool as it would be to get two lawn tix for the SBC, it would be insanely crowded and almost not worth it. I know for the 92.5 XTU concert, it was jam packed from what I could see from the pit. Also, Modest Mouse and the Black Keys are great!!! :)) Not to mention camping at festivals is a heck of a lot of fun!!

Post image for Fleetwood Mac Tribute Album – and Reunion!

It’s been a big week for Fleetwood Mac fans! First, we got a taste of the upcoming tribute album, and then yesterday Stevie Nicks announced that the band plans on reuniting next year! Read more »

Covering someone like Fleetwood Mac -- well -- is HARD. But, these weren't all horrible. Being a purist (if that's a good word for it?) though, I have to say that that version of Rhiannon SUCKED. I couldn't listen to it all the way through. But, Gold Dust Woman was very pleasant, I loved the twangy guitar and the airy vocal, and so was Silver Springs -- I agree, they do sound like different qualities of Stevie. However, I think my favorites of those is Dreams by the Kills. That was really impressive -- how they kept the song's basics, but totally altered it so that it almost sounded original. I honestly can't wait to hear the others!

i heard about this! (on the bob & tom show, i think) how awesome it would be to make one of their concerts!

Post image for Music to the Ears of a Yogi

Yoga classes are wonderful, but a lot of people (myself included) enjoy practicing yoga at home as well. I have a corner of my apartment where I like to roll out my mat, light some candles, maybe even burn some incense, and do yoga.  For some reason though, I don’t like doing it in silence. I like to listen to melodic, soothing music – some with lyrics, some without, and the perfect mix of mellow and a little upbeat to get me moving. Read more »

I would totally love a song & artist list of all of these songs! It's an awesome playlist!

'Heaven Sent You' by Donna Lewis. 'Cang Ding' by Celestial. I think these 2 songs provide a great soundtrack for an individual yoga practice.

I downloaded The Paper Kites' Woodland EP after a friend recommended it a few weeks ago, and I've had it on repeat ever since. It's really chill music, similar Monsters and Men, but...I kind of like The Paper Kites better. Download Woodlands for free on their website:

Current Swell is raw, organic, and sincere! Their sound is relatable and poetic! Definitely, one of my favourite summer tunes! Check em out!!

Post image for Exitmusic at Milkboy Philadelphia

I first heard of the band Exitmusic when I was in Brooklyn for the Northside Festival a couple of weeks ago, and they blew me away with their expansive, breathtaking sound that sent chills down my spine. When I found out they were playing a show at Philadelphia’s Milkboy this week I was eager to see them again and sit down with the band for a quick interview.

Exitmusic consists of married couple Aleksa Palladino and Devon Church – and if Aleksa looks familiar to you, its probably from her role as Angela Darmody (the wife of Jimmy, Michael Pitt’s character) on Boardwalk Empire.  Read more »

Post image for Album of the Week: Beachwood Sparks “The Tarnished Gold”

Beachwood Sparks is one of those bands that seems like they belong in the sixties – sweet, swirling psychedelic rock with a country twinge that should be listened to on a sunny day spent barefoot in the park. Read more »

I am absolutely fond of this album. I actually just traveled back from Grand Targhee Music festival, and I am appauled that you did not feature it on your blog. Please consider looking world wide for these music outbursts, including Wyoming. This festival is full of bluegrass music, and great fashion senses- Personalities. Thanks!
