UPDATE: This post originally ran on July 29, 2012, but we have a bunch of videos in mind for the near future and are always searching for new artists to support!
One of the best parts of my job here at Free People is I get to make fun videos for the blog (like this and this). It’s been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember, so this has been an absolute dream come true for me! We would love to start using these videos as a way to spread the word about up and coming artists… and that’s where you come in. Read more »
I recently developed a bad addiction… to record collecting. My love of vinyl is not a new thing, but I never had a record player until my boyfriend got me one for my birthday this past November. Now, a whole new world has opened up. Read more »
Inspired by our January catalog and its bicycle theme, I originally set out to create a playlist of songs about bikes. It’s been a little while since a new album came out that has really blown me away (not since these, and the new Neil Young) – but there have been some new singles popping up that have me really excited about the upcoming albums from these bands! Read more »
It’s time for another mixtape contest! I absolutely love making mixes, but I also love listening to mixes that other people make – our last contest was so much fun and opened my ears to so many amazing songs. For those of you who don’t remember or are recently joining us, here’s how it will work! Read more »
UPDATE: This post originally ran on September 13th 2012 but with the recent launch of our new UK site we wanted to bring it back! Do you agree with our list?
One of my favorite things about the UK is the music. Many of my favorite bands (including my top three favorites of all time) come from the UK. Something magic must have been in the air over there in the ‘60s, the decade that brought us Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles (among others). Following up their spring release, Americana, Neil Young & Crazy Horse are back with a new album of rocking tunes titled Psychedelic Pill. Read more »
