Post image for Backyard Sessions: Quiet Life

Last month, a group of us gathered in the beautiful backyard of one of our graphic designers for an impromptu backyard session with Quiet Life.  The band was in town working on their upcoming album, and we squeezed in the session right before they left town to go on tour.  It was a perfect summer night – good people, good music, and late night rides in the back of a pickup truck.Read More

Post image for Outside Lands 2014 Music Highlights

Music festivals are not always the best venue to fully experience music.  With so many people in one place, the crowd can be overwhelming, and if the artist doesn’t have the right stage presence, they aren’t able to fully captivate the audience and the performance can fall flat.  I definitely did not get to see all of the bands I wanted to see at Outside Lands, but I was able to catch a few performances that really stood out. Here are some of my highlights from Outside Lands 2014!Read More

I'm sure I'm late to this party but JUST in case, everyone on this blog needs to hear this. Unbelievably beautiful. Video was made at SXSW. Shakey Graves "Dearly Departed"

The best festival ever among the trees and mystical fog. Loved Local Natives as well. Can't wait for next year!

Post image for Interview: Natalie Bergman of Wild Belle

“The first album was about loss and heartache,” says Natalie Bergman, who makes up one half of the musical act, Wild Belle, along with her older brother Elliot. “The new one [album] is really about finding love and talking about how I don’t ever want to lose it because it feels so good.”Read More

Post image for XPoNential Music Festival 2014 Lineup

Tomorrow, my favorite local festival kicks off just over the bridge from Philly, in Camden – the XPoNential Music Festival! If you’re a longtime reader of this blog you’ve heard me rave about this festival, that I’ve attended every year since it started. WXPN is the non-commercial, member-supported radio service of the University of Pennsylvania – and my go-to for music discovery.  Read More

Saphoona -Jul 30, 2014, 3:40PM
College radio is definitely a great way to discover new bands. But unfortunately, as mentioned, a lot of colleges are shutting down radio stations, and/or making them a lot more commercial as far as music goes. So sad! I wish we had music festivals up where i live too. I wouldn't care if i had friends that didn't want to go. I'd go alone!
IniPeace -Jul 30, 2014, 12:14PM
Awesome Lineup! Wish we could be there! Check out my indie/pop folk bank Motel Talk!!

@Mayla, An online editor that can do that effect is "Ribbet. Not that convenient if you're just looking to edit from your phone. Though through "Ribbet" you can use the effect "Focal Zoom".
