I love this story, makes my heart throb! First of all congrats Alana, your style is awesome! I'm in the process of trying to escape my sad science career and let my jewelry business take flight! So rewarding when all of the hard work pays off! Linda www.lovelnj.com
Alana -Mar 30, 2015, 12:00PM
Hey Megan! Thanks for asking.. I did save up money by working at my previous job and continuing to put the money made from the business back into the business. The support from my friends and family since the beginning was incredibly important to make the transition and continue to be inspired! I did not quit my job cold turkey! I had been designing for years before it became my full time job. Lastly, I have an amazing business partner who is on this journey with me so our skill sets are quite complimentary and help make Phyllis + Rosie the best it can be! Hope this helped answer your questions! xx Alana

I was at Friends & Neighbors getting coffee while y'all were setting up. The vibes were awesome, and everyone was so nice. I met those adorable dogs and they were the sweetest/calmest. If it wasn't for the rain I probably would have come back for the music

Amazing story! I love her style and I'd love to listen to her music!
Alexandra -Mar 24, 2015, 11:53AM
Wow - I identified so much with Paris! I love a good latte in the morning - and I've heard the quote "what someone else thinks of you is none of your business" - it definitely saves me from a lot of anxiety. I also love that she included positive self talk as a part of being free - that is something I'm trying to work on! Warm Regards, Alexandra www.littlewildheart.com

Alyssa -Mar 27, 2015, 1:59PM
"For me, I think the most powerful takeaway has been self-awareness. I’ve become much more aware of my personal tendencies to escape from the present moment, and flee to a place filled with worry and fear." I think this is something I struggle with quite often. I'm a college student, a writer, and a musician, and sometimes things pile up. It's easy to forget the here and now and get trapped in that anxious space in your brain that is an ever-forming list of things to get done. Spend more time in the now, appreciating.... Great post. Great message. Warm Regards, Alyssa
