Post image for The Secret to a Perfect Cafe

An interesting phenomenon is that cafes have come to be synonymous with culture. Each social caste of human being is represented in cafe form somewhere in the world. We have punk rock cafes, hippie cafes, vegan cafes — you name it, it exists. Read more »

Y'all should check out Athens, GA. TONS of cute little shops. Hendershots off Prince would fit right in with these charming cafès.

I did just this yesterday! I have family that owns a pecan farm and they had a pecan festival yesterday. So my family and I packed up and drove 4 hrs to Virginia, MO. I haven't been there in about 10 years, so it was quite a treat. I also haven't left my home town since April, so it was nice to get outta Kansas for a while. Byrds Pecans is the name of the farm, which I think is the cutest (my mom's maiden name is Byrd) It's just so perfect lol! Even though there was tons of people there that I didn't know and it was only about 47 degrees out, the sun was shining and it was so relaxing just being outside surround by all the trees all day long!

Perfectly said. We must allow ourselves the time to stop, rest and reset to ensure that when we are out in our busy lives we are able to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. www.thatscoralynn.com

Post image for Spicy-Sweet Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Candle-lit pumpkins flicker from every doorstep, tissue-paper spirits haunt the nearly barren branches of sidewalk trees, talk of costumes and candy flutter through the air… yes, these signs can only mean one thing: All Hallows Eve has finally arrived. Read more »

Just tried the recipe, they were done in 15 minutes. At first, when I tasted the mixture, I thought it was going to be a little bit too spicy, but they turned out VERY delicious! This prospect makes pumpkin carving even better!

I nominate the inspiring and awesome Natalia Martinez for the Trailblazer award. Natalia put her career in her field on pause to work for Roots of Hope, helping to connect young Cubans and empower them to author their own futures with the aid of technology (Cuba is the least connected country in the hemisphere). http://about.me/natalia_martinez

Does FP have more information about their process for production and sourcing materials-for this line and all others? I have been very interested in ethical clothing (environmentally & related to human rights). However I've found it difficult to navigate with FP because even many pieces in the We The Free line are not made in the USA. I'm happy to support international artisans, but I would want to make sure that the labor going into the pieces is something I'm comfortable with.
Alexandra -Oct 29, 2014, 10:01AM
This is so lovely - truly the beauty of an heirloom is its ability to move through generations in an elegant way. These pieces ooze comfort and class - they'll surely be staples in a wardrobe for decades. Beautiful! Warm Regards, Alexandra www.littlewildheart.com

Post image for Muses of Decades Past

The night of hallows is among us soon. October 31st comes every year — and every year, it gives every woman, man, and child an excuse to adorn themselves in costume — to be anyone or anything they so choose. Many go for the usual suspects: nurse, cat, pumpkin, vampire… us? We’re looking to our muses of the past that quite frankly, still have us musing onward to the future. We turn the tables of Halloween costumes to our favorite inspirational style icons of decades-past: Stevie Nicks, Debbie Harry, Edie Sedgwick and Cher.
