Post image for Free People Models Off Duty

Plain tops and skinny jeans seemed to be the theme for our models this week. Charo was in the studio, looking casual and cool as always, and I also had the pleasure of meeting Olivia — who we’ve worked with in the past — for the very first time! Read on to see what these stylish babes wore to work.

@belle, I think the high tops are Maison Martin Magiela's, pretty expensive :S shakkablakka.blogspot.nl

I know that this is a free people blog so promoting their own clothes makes sense. But since this is a fashion blog as well, I think it would be nice to know the exact clothing the models are wearing. Fashion should never be kept a secret, know what I mean? =)

Post image for DIY Pressed Flower Phone Case

Pressed flowers and leaves are something I just can’t seem to get enough of. It’s gotten to the point where, at any given point, I have a bunch hidden between the pages of various books in my home just waiting for a time I’ll want to use them. This DIY is my favorite way to use pressed flowers yet.

Love it! I always look to this blog for crafty inspiration. I'm wanting to make a kite this spring and I'm wondering if you have any ideas on how to go about it.. Thanks

Hi. Great post! Who knew using flowers could make an iphone case so beautiful. Seriously, Before reading this post I never thought to create my own designs. If I see another zebra-print case in a trendy store, I think i'm going to stop liking zebras. Lol. But really, this can be expanded to other designs for sure. Think I'll try a money print montage theme, or I might create one using my favorite sports teams (not the standard team logo), or even personalized comics featuring me, my wife and my son :) Thanks!

Post image for Dyeing Your Hair With Henna

This post comes from our contributor FP Naomi. Read more »

I love henna. I have tried Surya, and, while it is not completely harmless or natural, it is certainly preferable (IMO) to many of the commercial stuff you can buy. You can buy a lot of powdered henna online. I've tried Lush henna and it was okay. I got some from Mountain Rose Herbs that I liked, and I also bought some from Amazon. It is VERY cheap and does a great job of covering grey hair. I've never seen a chemical dye color hair as beautifully as henna does. However, like others have said, you can't really go lighter with it. It also smells, kind of like hay or spinach (I think) but that dissipates. I like to use oil with henna on my hair, then it is like a deep-conditioning treatment. I've also used cocoa powder and coffee to color my hair...be warned that the hair will smell like either chocolate or coffee afterwards. :-) Cocoa powder made it a beautiful color but it didn't last long.

Agree with Jess. Been using Surya for years now, even living in Sweden -whenever friends or family from Uruguay visit me, they bring me loads of packets for storing.

Steam has done wonderful things for my face. I splurged and bought the Dr. Dennis Gross facial steamer. I love it! It was definitely worth the $. It allows me to lay down and have the steamer steam my face – very relaxing.

Post image for 1 Tool, 3 Wedding DIYs

Oh the joys of the paper pot press. I actually hadn’t the slightest clue what a pot press was until just recently, when our friends over at Terrain granted us one, along with no other instruction than to do with it as we pleased… Now I’m in love.
