Post image for Handmade Houses: An Interview With Richard Olsen

I’m a product of parents who lived the life of handmade. Houses, food, gardens… I’m surprised we even had a car growing up and not some recycled Fred Flinstone mobile that promoted good health whilst on the go. Handmade (in all nature) is of immediate interest, and most certainly when it comes to homes. I’m instantly entranced. My love for exteriors/interiors and the brains behind them go far beyond fascination. Best described as an unfounded respect and awe for individuals that stepped outside of the trained parameters, to create unique spaces and structures that were both kind on mind, body, and earth. It’s art, in its truest form… art that one can live within and amongst. Read more »

Post image for 5 Tips For Staying Positive

I have a confession.  Something that I have always struggled with in life is staying positive.  I wouldn’t call myself a negative person, necessarily, I just tend to fall somewhere in the middle.  I think it stems from the fact that I’m very anxious — I live very much in the future, always thinking about the consequences of my actions and potential negative outcomes.  Ever since reading The Power Of Now for our book club earlier this year, I’ve tried to confront this trait head on and do what I can to change my outlook.  It has been a goal of mine to be more positive, and it’s something that I continue to work on.  Read more »

Post image for Ayurveda Journal, Week 1: Exploring The Senses

After having a glimpse into the world of Ayurveda at Temple of the Lotus last week, I’ve decided that this is something that I’d really like to incorporate into my life. I have a few physical ailments that I’ve been trying to resolve for quite some time, and in recent years I’ve acquired a thirst to become more connected with myself and my surroundings, and to learn how to be truly present. I have a strong feeling that Ayurveda is exactly what I’ve been needing all this time. Read more »

heartburn for days -Jul 07, 2014, 9:49AM
Like when eating, do not overuse vinegar and baking soda because this may lead to other unwanted results. Esophageal cancer being one of the more serious cases that can occur. Heartburn may be a recurring thing for many people; however, there are certain steps one can take to gain some relief.

Ayurveda is ancient knowledge that indicates the very measure of life, advising on the appropriate and inappropriate, happy and sorrowful conditions of living, and recommending practices auspicious for longevity. The meaning of ‘Ayur’ is life, and ‘Veda’ means knowledge, so Ayurveda means ‘knowledge of the science of life’. Ayurveda was derived from the most cherished scripture of India; the Vedas. The four Vedas are the Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda and Atharvaveda. For more Visit on-

It's really strange to me that whatever's going on in my life is actually relevant to this. Granted, I won't change my life to mold whatever my horoscope says, but it IS interesting that I'm frustrated with work and my horoscope reflects that haha!
Dina -Oct 28, 2013, 3:14PM
I don't wish to be rude, but Astrology makes me angry because it is NOT real and should NOT be taken seriously. It's only an excuse to wrongly categorize and stereotype people... :(

I'm eating this right now, along with my 1-year-old baby. He loves it just as much as I do. My house smells amazing from the roasted garlic. I added a tiny sprinkling of grated Parmesan Romano cheese on top. I also used walnuts because I didn't have walnuts and arugula in place of spinach because it was what I had on hand. Delicious!
Emelyn -Oct 29, 2013, 10:54PM
I made this tonight and threw in some dried cranberries I had lying around. Definitely delicious enough to warrant an Instagram post ;)
