What I love about springtime the most is the transition — when you start to feel the weather getting a little warmer, when you see the first buds appear on the trees and then everything starts to glow and become bright. Things are given a new life. This spring I have decided to decorate my back porch and start to grow herbs and flowers, starting this weekend. I have been researching heirloom seeds and have purchased a couple of packets from The Happy Cat Farm right here in Philly.

One of the best things about music festivals is always the new musical discoveries that you make. One of mine from SXSW was the California-based band IO Echo, which consists of Ioanna Gika and Leopold Ross. Their music is dark and melodic, but also airy and light – a contradiction you don’t often find in music. Read more »
For many months now I have been drinking lemon, honey, ginger and cayenne pepper throughout the day. It awakens me and stimulates my senses. Ginger is very good for the stomach and the lemon and cayenne pepper help to open up the nasal passages, allowing a nice breathing pattern. I always have a sweet tooth — especially during mid-day — and the honey in the drink helps to soothe it. Read more »

Springtime is the perfect time of year to start potting some plants to make an area become full bloom. For this week’s DIY we wanted to create our very own plant holder using a cement mix. It’s easy, quick and fun to do when you have a couple of hours to spare. The decorating of the pot afterwards is pretty great, too – you can personalize it any way you like!
It’s time to start preparing a summer bucket list, and this year an instant camera is at the top of that list for me. Instant cameras are the best of both worlds.
