Post image for How We Wear Chunky Scarves

One of my absolute essentials for winter is a chunky scarf… in addition to being warm, there’s something comforting about being all wrapped up in one. Brigette always wears chunky scarves and looks great in them so I asked her to show me how she would wear a few of our scarves as inspiration! UPDATE: This previously ran on October the 30th but as we know everyone likes to update their basic tee every once in a while we wanted to bring it back.

Smocking has always been a craft that has intrigued me, I love how it creates more depth and volume in flat fabrics and the pattern is so pretty when finished. Read more »

The time has come, at least where I live, when the local fresh produce has dwindled down to very little and we are hunkering down for a long and cold winter. Read more »

Post image for December Moodboard: Wake Up And Shine

This December I’m craving a fresh, clean start… hints of pastel shades and florals are creeping back into my mind and I’m already longing for spring.  I love the crisp early morning silence, waking up to the rays of light filtering through my window, playing records and drinking coffee, the day ahead full of so much promise. I'm glad I'm not the only night owl. My deepest desires to express and create seem to hit me in the late night, wee morning hours. I'm in love, and so inspired that I want to grab my camera now and take it to venture.

Hi Claudia! I printed them out on our color printer here at work with standard office paper...but funnily enough the printer was running low on toner so the images of a faded quality that i actually really love! :)

Post image for Why We Love The Aark Wildlife Center

This is a guest post from Johnie of

An injured fawn on the side of the road. A bird with a broken wing. A nest of baby rabbits your dog found. Chances are if you live in an even remotely suburban or rural area, you’ve encountered wildlife in need of some help. For your own safety and the health of the animal, it’s not a good idea to try and tend to it yourself—so what can you do? We visited the Aark Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, a Philadelphia area wildlife shelter, for their open house, where we talked with volunteers to find out the best way to take care of lost or injured wildlife and what we can do to support the centers nursing them back to health. Post image for 3 Ways To Wear A Lace Maxi Skirt

UPDATE: This post previously ran on November the 14th but because we love this skirts so much, we wanted to bring it back.

Here at Free People we love statement maxi skirts, and when our Annie Oakley Lace Skirt came online it melted our hearts. We know that statement skirts can be quite overwhelming and can often be tricky items to style. Of course, if you’re going to invest in something you want to have multiple ways to wear it, right? I bought this skirt after seeing it online, but it is quite a bit more peach than ivory. I have been struggling to find the perfect color to go with it. Denim is nice, but a little too much the cowgirl look. Does anyone know if there is a way to dye it more ivory? Or perhaps a washing technique that will help?
Caitlyn -Dec 11, 2012, 9:29PM
Very beautiful! The layered fabric of the lace skirt reminds me of designer called "Naturally Bohemian"...If you have never heard of her look her up, i know FP would LOVE her clothing!

I love the way the outfit was put together and the different options given on how to put the outfit together with other things. this blog is similar to mine because both blogs are about the latest updated fashion. However, they are different because my blogs goes into further details on the different body types the clothing would be perferred on.
