Post image for One Sweater Goes To NYC

Friday evening the sun was glowing its last light as I snuggled on the train to go to New York City. The notion of public transport makes my mind sink into deep mystery storytelling: I thought of the past, I thought of the present, and I thought of the near future.

The sweater featured is our Crochet Speckled Hoodie

Love all the these looks! They're unique - not the typical high waisted shorts and crop tops I've seen featured in a lot of festival fashion posts.

Post image for How Free People Bloggers Wear Plaid

This week’s trend “Rad in Plaid” is all about taking influence from 90’s grunge and making it your own with a “come as you are” attitude. Plaid has that causal cool feel to it that we love and it’s easy to adapt to a look that suits you. Read more »

Post image for What Book Changed Your Life?

Whenever people tell me about a book that made an impact on their life, it touches my heart so much. Nothing’s more beautiful than reading words that soak into your soul. Reading a book can often be an incredible experience, you get the opportunity to escape to another world and feel the emotions of other people. Read more »

The Great Gatsby by Francis Scott Fitzgerald Smoke Bellew by Jack London The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov etc. I used to read Paul Coelho a lot but his books are too slight for me now. Now I'm playing with my grey brain cells.

Milkweed, a novel by Jerry Spinelli, has changed my soul, mind, and body.

Post image for Two Ways To Use Activated Charcoal In Your Beauty Routine

Would you ever purposely put charcoal on your face? If you asked me that about a month ago, I’d probably laugh at the question, but just a few minutes ago I found myself doing just that. Read more »

How long does this recipe last before it goes bad?
Tera -Jun 29, 2014, 1:19AM
I buy my charcoal and bentonite clay from I also buy several other herbs from them. Very inexpensive and excellent quality. Don't be duped by the commercial skincare industry, go straight for the good, natural ingredients and skip the preservatives and fillers. If you don't have a good understanding of how to mix products, just google natural recipes and you will get a ton of ideas! Play around with mixtures until you get a good mix for your skin, teeth, and body. Most natural things are just as good for your inside as they are outside. Multitasking!

Post image for Why I’ve Fallen In Love With Cacti

Over the last couple of weeks I have been gathering cacti for my home and have fallen in love with the obscure looking plants. It is said that having a cactus in your home will help absorb negative energies and I’m all for that! I have 2 situated on my coffee table next to a geode that was given to us by a friend and one of them is placed on a little Parisian plate that I bought from a lady who lived in Maine at Brimfield’s antique market.  Read more »

This was previously published on July 9th 2012 but we thought we’d bring it back as we are in a party mood all over again, enjoy!

FP Party is a collection of dresses wrapped in daydreams and fairytales. Each dress has certain details that capture a girl’s fantasy: sequins, beautiful embroidery, unique texture and macramé… the dresses tell a story, a special story of that occasion you keep dreaming about. If you put one on, you’ll feel fireworks. Here we talk to the designer behind the collection who transferred her training in couture in Paris into these wonderful creations. Read more »

I used to be a real party girl when I was younger, out clubbing every Friday and Saturday, and usually once during the week too. Walking through the morning fog of Gothenburg, Sweden at 6 am, feeling alive. Now when I have kids, parties are different, more at people's houses, dinners, a warm hearty feeling. This video has inspired me to have a party for no particular reason, just invite friends, nice foods, etc. Basically, a party for love. Of course I will be wearing sequins. If I could afford it, I would get the shimmy shimmy dress! Top of my Most Wanted list.

I love Free People clothing and the people that work hard and have fun making it! Wearing your pieces makes me feel alive and happy.
