Post image for When In Doubt, Drink Tea

I always find that tea calms me, there’s nothing nicer than sitting back and taking the time to enjoy a cup of tea and some biscuits. Maybe it’s because I’m from the UK, but one of my favorite time of day is teatime. I just sip slowly on a cup of Earl Grey and let time pause for a couple of minutes. It relaxes me and it makes my thoughts become clear.

it depends upon the situation cause there are some instances the guy is so shy that he could not ask the girl to a date though you already feel the chemistry that you have, maybe in that case you can ask him about it relationships are hard, but people always think they are supposed to be easy. I only figured it out after I discovered Haley Hill, she wrote a very interesting book about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgS5p8AXrXE&feature=youtu.be&t=6m48s

Post image for Color Inspiration: Seeing Red

We are seeing red this week, in a good way! Items in this color are catching our eyes. From dresses, blouses, lingerie, and even cute little socks. Red has more personal associations than any other color, it draws attention, increases energy, encourages confidence, it’s also the highest arc in the rainbow. Did you know that bees can’t see red!?

Randi Lee -Feb 05, 2013, 5:37PM
My name is Randi, I am a nineteen year old warm blooded California girl who has entered her second year in college, and realized she is in the complete wrong major. I am in the process of deciding which major to switch to, (it's a tossup between English or Journalism), but I need advice. I have an idea of what I want the future of my career to look like. I love to write, I love fashion, and I love exploring new and creative facets of my right brain. My question is this, what, if any definitive path, would you suggest for me to be a part of a brand team like Free People. FP is my go-to clothing line, and my inspiration for more than just trends in fashion. FP has a lot of underlying vigor outside the seams of the garments it creates. I want to be a part of creating that inspiration. I believe working for a brand like Free People would be an amazing stepping stone to a future in the field of fashion journalism. Ultimately, working for a magazine would be the end goal I would have in mind, but being in touch with ones truest self and experiencing new things is what life is all about, right? I think working on the vision team, blogging for the website, helping create the vision board for upcoming catalogs, seeing what’s a trending, photographing real life individual, places, things in nature to gain inspiration, etc. I would love to do all of that, I am just stuck. I don't know which direction will be most beneficial to me. What employers at places such as Free People will be looking for, and what is expected from the teams of people who are already working there? What will they need from me, in order for my addition to the "family" be a success? I understand this is a long and lengthy email, and I'm sure this is not the only message dinging in your inbox for the whole day. But, if there is any empathy to be felt, a spark of knowledge to be shared, or a simple sentence for guidance; anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to whoever is reading my exasperating stream of consciousness, if you have even allowed your eyes to reach the bottom of this email. The time taken is nevertheless appreciated. I tried to send this to the email under "contact" but it wouldn't send, so I opted for the comment route on a blog post. Best Regards, Randi L. San Luis Obispo, CA

Post image for Seasonal Shopping List: Fruits & Veggies For February!

This shopping list comes to us from Kelsi Windmiller.

February is a tricky month for fresh local fruits and vegetables. Luckily, there will be newly in-season produce coming in from the warmer states. Keep your eyes out for some fresh berries! Otherwise, try to make the most out of what is in season all year ’round. Read more »

Fantastic~! Thanks
Margaret -Feb 16, 2013, 1:22AM
Great list! For this time of year, you will want to consider vegetables that grow well in cool temperatures that can be grown locally - crucifers (like broccoli, kale, and cabbage), Swiss chard, radishes, green onions, carrots and beets), and vegetables that are in season in warmer climates - like citrus! Of course, every vegetables is in season somewhere, but the most quality vegetables come from not too far away!
