Post image for Making Everyday Tasks More Meaningful

We all have a to-do list. Whether it’s stored in our phones, scribbled on paper, or floating around in our minds, there’s always a list of things that we have to (and don’t want to) do. Post image for Trend Prediction! What We’re Loving For Spring/Summer

Every season there seems to be a trend on the runway that sticks out, and for Spring/Summer 2013 we were seeing lots of bralettes outfitted with skirts by the likes of Mara Hoffman, Charlotte Ronson, and Rebecca Minkoff. An easy and accessible look that’s perfect for hot summer days. Here at Free People we love bralettes and find any way possible to make them appropriate to wear visibly. Read more »

I love this look, I've already stocked up on a few and can't wait to wear them! I need to sew a few high waisted skirts, for some reason I have only one. blog: instead of an elephant Creative Director: Thread Magazine

I agree with Jenny E. I do not wear the bralette alone - it's just not age appropriate for me (43) but I do layer it and you still see it and not so much skin...

Post image for Shopable Street Style: Brighton Cool

This week’s shopable street style is from the UK… from Brighton to be exact,  a small coastal town that’s full of creative art students. We love how the girls dress here and how they know how to mix sophistication with a little bit of creativity. Here, Olivia teams a denim overall dress with a classic coat and black loafers, its fun yet smart at the same time.

You guys should try out Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro sometime. It's pretty much indescribable.
Bailey -Feb 17, 2013, 11:48AM
YES! Being Present! I love that. I'm a theatre major and an aspiring actress and our mentors are all about "being present" on stage and in life. One of my teachers said, "the mind is a chattering, drunken monkey. It wants to pull you into the past and yank you into the future. You have the power to control your mind: breathe. The breath centers you to this moment. The breath is a gift. And as soon as your receive it, you must give it away. And when you give it away, you get another breath." All focusing on "now", "this moment", "the present". Just thought I'd share some of the wisdom I've been given with all of you wonderful folk!

Post image for Mastering The Art Of Meditation

I have always been intrigued and curious about meditation and how to actually master it and let all your thoughts run free. I’ve touched upon mild meditation briefly in my yoga class but I have never been fully successful at it. I find it incredibly hard to not think of anything at all and just let go, it’s virtually impossible. So like most of us I enjoy being challenged and want to conquer the art of meditation. I feel in a world where everything is so constant you always feel slight anxiety that you’re missing a beat. Read more »
