We’re right smack in the middle of festival season right now, still coming down from the fun of Pitchfork and already thinking about Outside Lands in August! 2011: A Look Back
Our catalog team traveled around the world…
…and us bloggers got to go to our shoot with Sasha Pivovarova in NYC – definitely a highlight of the year!
We worked with so many beautiful models…
We debuted FP Spun and Vegan Leather, and launched a special line of Limited Edition Dresses! We celebrated with pop-up shops in NY and LA, where Jade Castrinos performed at our store.
We fell hard for extreme flares, monochromatic dressing, birkenstocks, turbans, sweater dressing, fancy collars, western boots, friendship bracelets and bright nails, flatforms, mixed prints, color pops, polka dots and more…
We were influenced by decades past…
…and by trends like mod and grunge.
We brought you festival coverage from Pitchfork and Outside Lands…
We shot our July catalog with Alexandra Valenti and the Happen-Ins, and we had such a great time we went back and threw a party to celebrate the catalog release! We also threw a party at our 5th ave store for Fashion’s Night Out and had a blast.
We made so many lovely blogger friends!
Many crafts were made, and we held our first crafting events in Cambridge and NYC!
And, some new furry faces popped up in the office :)
2011 was a good year :) Here’s to making the next one even better!
Happy New Year!
xoxo

Visiting Chicago For The First Time…
Chicago is a city I fell in love with, there’s something about the tone of the city that brings a new feeling to me. I’m British and exploring American cities is always a great adventure.
While we were there attending Pitchfork Festival we ventured around the city to get a true taste of what Chicago was about. We stayed at The James Hotel right on Ontario Street giving us easy access to make Chicago our own. There were a number of nights we stuffed ourselves with Chicago Dogs and Deep Pan Pizzas and took late night strolls along the Chicago River – winding down after a hectic day at the festival. I met up with some of the store managers of our Chicago store they made me feel more connected to the city telling me tales of their lives living there.
Chicago we love you, you’re a windy city that’s mighty pretty.

musical ornaments
if i had a christmas tree, these are the kind of ornaments i’d put on it. i saw these on pitchfork and I think they’re so cool – they’re recycled christmas tree ornaments made by the glass casters union in oregon, and proceeds from the sale of the ornaments go towards helping homeless and low-income families in oregon. this year’s designs include modest mouse, blizen trapper and the decemberists (shown above). i also like some of the ones they’ve done in previous years:
