Thursday Poll:January Lookbook

This January, we traveled to Palm Springs, CA to shoot our lookbook with Alexandra Spencer of 4th and Bleeker. In the book, she takes on the look of a domesticated 70’s wild child as she hangs by the pool and goes about her day in a 70’s ranch style home. The looks are filled with stacked sandals, flowing bohemian prints and ditzy patterns elevated with hard-edged suede, sequins, and funky shades. There’s no doubt this woman is beautifully Free People. Which look is your favorite?

Thursday Poll: Tribal Prints

It’s no secret that as a brand, Free People has a little infatuation with tribal prints. Right now there are a whole slew of them on our website – popping up in fun and creative ways. I would happily add any of these to my closet, but which is your favorite way to rock ethnic prints? Bathing suit, head band, shorts….you tell us!

(p.s. if you like this trend you should definitely check out our Urban Safari feature in accessories right now!)

Thursday Poll: Blue Hues

The color blue sometimes gets a bad rap. It can be associated with feelings of sadness. Perhaps the cold winter has you “feeling blue.” Well, there’s nothing depressing about our Blue Hues collection on the website. Some of the hottest FP pieces fall into the category, and contrary to the color’s reputation, they’re quite fun and uplifting to wear. This is one cool color for apparel. Which is your favorite piece in the pretty hue?

Thursday Poll: Volume and Print

The Free People girl is not one to shy away from a statement. She’s bold, she takes up a lot of room, and she’s not afraid of color. She likes to push the limits, and that’s exactly why we have the most amazing collection of printed voluminous pants on the site right now. These pieces flip the rules on their head, and draw attention to the bottom half of an outfit. A few, with their flower child bohemian vibe, live in the Nouveau Boho trend while others are funky and psychedelic. We’re loving the can’t-miss-it look. Which statement, printed bottoms do you like best? Read More

Thursday Poll: Color Pops

Publications are always telling us which colors to wear. Are we calling it nude or blush this season? Open up a magazine, and you’ll see how neons are all the rage. We’re color obsessed! One of the most fun things to do is experiment with color. We’ve been doing exactly that here at Free People which has led us to settle on color POPS as our must have look this season. We love pairing these bright hues back to neutrals – dusty pinks, elephant grey, black and white –letting them make their statement, and grabbing the eye. My question for all of you is – which piece will you be popping?

Thursday Poll: Western-Inspired Jewels

You all saw our December Catalog last week. Its pages are full of western-inspired apparel, but what you may not have noticed is that we’re also showing some pretty awesome jewels to go along with it. These pieces combine Native American influences with leather-clad, tobacco spittin’ cowboys to form what we now think of as western jewelry.  To get the right feel, it’s about rough organic elements with a sort of practicality to them. The pieces combine tarnished metals and statement leather with hints of turquoise and ivory.  Did I mention that these would make great gift items for a special someone? Which is your favorite western-inspired piece?

Thursday Poll: Baroque-and-Roll

Have you seen the Baroque Shop on freepeople.com?  It’s full of great items to pull off this Abbey Lee-inspired trend that we’re loving. It’s a look that’s a bit Goth with jewel tones, metallic embroideries, and rich textures. We’re loving it paired back to a day-time look, but the styling possibilities are truly endless. Which piece inspires your baroque fantasies?

Thursday Poll: Holiday Lookbook

We’ve been gearing up for holidays for quite some time now, and the release of our November lookbook (staring models Linda Vojtova and Ruby Aldridge) confirms that the festive season is finally upon us. It’s a magical time of year that inspires a uniform of glitter and glitz. Everywhere you look ladies have out their best eye-twinkling sequins. Parties are lined with shining gems in head-to-toe metallics – catching the light and bouncing back an elegant glimmer. The world, for two months or so, becomes spectacularly hypnotizing exactly like this book. Which look whisks you off into the twinkling dreamland?

Thursday Poll: Head Pieces

I have to admit, when it comes to accessorizing, my head usually gets the least attention. Quick to throw on some rings or a dangly necklace, it rarely occurs to me to throw something on my head as well. BUT Free People has some of the coolest head pieces of seen of late, and I’m second guessing my accessory habits. I’m particularly drawn to the pieces with an Egyptian or 70’s vibe, but tell me – how would you top it off?
