friday cuteness

one of our fp girls out on the west coast sent me these adorable photos that i had to share…

our so-cal DVM had a day at her daughter’s school called “occupation celebration” where she talked to the kids about her awesome job at FP  – she dressed up the girls like mannequins and chatted all about being a district visual manager – how cute?!

and this is claude, a new pup belonging to our visual manager on the west coast! above is claude as an itty bitty pup, and here is is on his first fp store visit, in santa monica:

winter strikes again… a little over a foot fell in the city and i went for a little walk this morning and took some photos before beginning the trek down to the navy yard.  i actually love the brief period of time after a large snowfall when everything is blanketed in white and the snow muffles the usual sounds of the city, creating a peaceful lull.  people even seem to say hi on the street more often, offering a warm smile of commiseration for others out shoveling or trudging through snow up to their knees.

but don’t get me wrong, i am more than ready for spring! enough of this nonsense :)

outside the box

after jemma posted about our extreme series oversized and boxy tees the other day i went and checked out the shop online and started thinking about how i’d wear some of these items. like she said, i also tend to over-size it when i buy shirts because i like them a little baggier – so these extreme tees are right up my alley!  we had a little fun today trying some outfits on, and with the color scheme of the items we picked, the bamboo forest at the end of the hall beckoned to us…

at home with our graphic designer

lizzy janssen is an amazing artist, has great style, and is just an awesome person- so its no surprise that her home (in fishtown, philadelphia) is a reflection of all those things. lizzy describes it as somewhere in the early american, meets 1950’s housewife, meets mid-century modern neighborhood :) another fun fact – it was designed by our creative director, who lives here!

i’m completely in love with her place…the exposed brick, the spiral staircase, the amazing bathroom and her adorable cat arlo in the above picture (named after arlo guthrie).

1

most of the stuff lizzy has decorated her place with – the furniture, paintings and figurines – was found at thrift stores, garage sales, and sometimes even on the curb! her favorite thrift stores in philly are germantown thrift and three potato four, in manayunk.

here’s a quick little interview with lizzy, and check out more photos of her sweet place in the slideshow below!

model off duty

our creative design assistant snapped a couple pics of model sasha pivovarova when she arrived for our catalog shoot on thursday… she looks effortlessly cool in leather pants, black shoes, tank and messy braid – and the tiger on her shirt was definitely appropriate!

i snapped this photo of her bracelets and rings on the makeup table – i love that she just wears a couple of friendship bracelets!

and jemma took this photo when she arrived on day two, looking nice and cozy for the cold day in nyc!

i know you guys want to see more of the april catalog but you’re going to have to wait a little bit! don’t worry though because i’ll have a sneak peek of our february book soon (maybe next week!) and it is amazing :)

Extreme series part one: Boxy Shapes

I have always been a fan of the oversized look. I usually opt for the two sizes bigger idea when it comes to buying tops  –  I like the way they fall and how much freedom I have to play around with different silhouettes.

Lately bloggers have been catching my eye and the ways they have been styling these extreme XL ideas.

I love this look with maxi skirts with a small section of the top tucked in to give a draping effect or just worn loose to give that relaxed and comfortable feel.

It’s quite a bold idea… how do you guys feel about this look???
