Occasionally I like to paint my nails bright Barbie pink, and that's usually where it ends. However, I could really see myself rocking that last look.

Lovely! Metallics are so great because they're versatile for casual or formal - and every season. The gold leaf detail would be beautiful on a maroon mani. Warm Regards, Alexandra www.littlewildheart.com

Love this. I'd enjoy seeing a post about the color oxblood (always makes me dream of fall) or of how to wear knee-high socks - I have a ton of them but for some reason feel a little uninspired about how to work them into my everyday wardrobe right now xoxo Sara http://www.restlessnomads.com

Post image for Backyard Sessions: Quiet Life

Last month, a group of us gathered in the beautiful backyard of one of our graphic designers for an impromptu backyard session with Quiet Life.  The band was in town working on their upcoming album, and we squeezed in the session right before they left town to go on tour.  It was a perfect summer night – good people, good music, and late night rides in the back of a pickup truck. Hi, I am from Costa Rica and it's so exciting to read how much you like it here. I have never been to Nosara, but I have been to many other beaches which are all beautiful as well. I hope you can enjoy this country again. :)

I'm a yogi with baby fine soft ringlets that fall to the middle of my back. I dye my hair every 2-3 months. I needed my routine to include washing every day because I'm very active. I also use all salon brand products and find it makes a huge difference. I brush my hair before I shower. I find it causes less breakage. 1. I swap back and forth between a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner and a protien based one. Protien tends to dry it out but help it grow longer. 2. While washing, never wash the length of hair below your chin. I have to part my hair into two sections to achieve a good scalp wash. Do this by running your finger from the top of one ear, around the back of your head, and to the other ear. You can scrub your shampoo into your scalp much easier without getting any on your lengths. Simply squeeze any suds through your hair lengths and rinse. I can wash my hair every day using this method and it's crazy gentle. :D While conditioning, only rub conditioner on the top outside layer of you hair and fully saturate all the length of hair below your jaw line. At this point you can wet comb if you like. I dry brush before my showers. 3. Squeeze any water out that you can with just your bare hands. Flip your head upside down and swing your head gently to help your hair from being stuck to the back of your head. You can squeeze out more water at this point too. Now either wrap a towel gently around your head while you are still bending over and your curls are hanging forward and let it sit for 5minutes (don't worry, you can stand back up straight once the towel is on! :3) OR, lower curls into a t-shirt if you want to do the plopping technique. (Check youtube for curly girl plopping, it's amazing) After allowing your hair to dry a bit, use a spray leave in conditioner then squeeze in oil over it to help seal the conditioner in. At this point I usually finger shape a few curls around my face , 2 on each side. You can pin them back if the curls get in your face but you may have to experiment with pinning it. I've had some funky curls come out of pinning while wet! Haha

Gorgeous hair and great tips! I'm going to try the solid shampoo, sounds interesting.

I also like to try different food items all the time. From my experience, we have to eat a lot in the morning. Lot in sense protein wise. Protein is the key element which keeps us running all the time. Eating fresh food in the morning is also a good thing.
Ana -Sep 24, 2014, 2:48PM
Love the recipes! You have really great ideas. I normally just take some fruits and put them in the bag - really quick breakfast preparation :) - and then eat them on my way to work or when I'm already in the office. If I have more time then I cook something evenig before - like rice pudding or protein pancakes. Breakfast is for me also very important. I just enjoy Long breakfasts on sunday Mornings :) xoxo
