mr. softee stopped by the home office today for one of his final visits of the season...
after this week, we won’t be seeing him until spring:( thanks mr. softee, see you next year!
go phillies!
here are a few of our vendors who visited the office this week as part of our mill week festivities...along with one of our designers...aren't they all adorable?

have a lovely weekend, everybody!
thank you arunav, krishan, sarika!
i'm stealing some of the warmth of this pic for my brisk monday morning... :)

sorry...not sure from where this photo came.
did a scavenger hunt of sorts around the office recently, trying to find hot pink things. it wasn't really all that hard, but...maybe a fun project for you? just pick a random color/object, and spend a day trying to find it.

:)
sorry so few posts today... :(
just a view from the blue ridge mountains in north carolina for your viewing pleasure...

be well. show a little love this weekend. :)
we had an outdoor sample sale here on friday...just for employees. needless to say, folks like sample sales.

some of us out on the town...
enjoy the weekend! be safe.
in case any of you are interested (and i suspect one or 2 of you are, especially if you're my mother), i am accompanying 2 friends on a drive cross-country next week. :)
not sure i'll have as amazing a collection of travel photos as nike's, but...i'll try and share some of my sights/adventures with you via the blog...

maybe i'll see some of you...asheville, new orleans, austin, etc. :) unfortunately, not in a cool bus such as below...
our senior designer gianna became a mom for the second time this weekend...
thriller's just a few weeks old, but g is feeding him here at work and keeping him real comfy. they are so lucky to have one another...

one of our sample coordinators, sam...coming out of the closet, but only to enjoy her weekend! please do the same. :)

this weekend, take at least one picture. if for no other reason but to try and remember something beautiful...
like if the light is nice and you like your new ring alot...
or if you see something someone is wearing that's awesome...

or your dream car (this is mine)...

or if you meet some nice guys on the train named tex and kc...

:)

an aerial view of the north end of our office, building 15...

happy weekend, everybody!!!
just cuz...someone left this on my desk and i love 'em to bits.

have a lovely holiday, says dexter...

don't worry...he got a treat for his hard work! :)

at the onset of summer, a group of amazing designers/artists congregated to build 6 teepees at the surf lodge in montauk, ny - bob melet, mike diamond, robert mckinley, tracy feith and rogan gregory...all to benefit the local skate park there! how rad.
unfortunately, east hampton's fire marshall demanded they be taken down soon after...but, kudos to these busy guys for giving their time and muscle for kids and what they love.
thanks for finding, meredith!
yay friday!!!

today is our friend stephanie's last day...she's in the middle. coincidentally (or not), she and 2 other co-workers wore our deep v boyfriend tee.

heather made some amazing good-bye cupcakes for us all, donned with the state of ohio (which is from where she hails) and dachsunds (her family loves 'em).

:)
no, not really fp boys...though we did do a post about them not so long ago...

Our Art Director, Doub, has been collecting things that are red for inspiration right now. Above are her collages so far... I really like the visual appeal of looking at all the red things next to each other! Do you guys ever collect things for inspiration?
This will wake you up right! A group of dancers wearing hammer pants rush into a random store and surprise everyone with an awesome dance!
Okay so this is interesting - the video below captures police in Denmark hugging helmet-less cyclists and giving them helmets. I know it's probably just a propaganda thing, but do you guys know anything about this? Even if it is a stunt for good press, it's really cute to see. Good effort!
For more discussion of this little topic, see here.
Now right off the bat, I want to point out that having Al Franken's video on here is not in any way an endorsement or political statement or anything. I think he is running for Congress, but I couldn't even tell you which side he's on. The reason Al Franken makes it on the blog today is because in this video, which you can find below, he draws a near-perfect map of the USA from memory, in about 3 minutes. I had to share it with you!
This seriously blows my mind! Especially because after I watched this video I tried myself, and drew the USA from memory as best I could. Let me tell you that it took me a LOT more than 3 minutes! I had mistakes in mine too, for example my placement of Arkansas. (Whoops!) Below the video, you can find my attempt at drawing the map, which was a mess and ended up needing a second piece of paper cause I drew the eastern half of the country too big... :)

One of our stylists, Mackenzie, took some stunning pictures while she was on the last couple of catalog shoots! Here's a little note from her:
"We went to Virginia for the last two catalog shoots... and it’s ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL THERE!!!
Here is some proof!!!
We loved it!!!"

These pictures make me really excited to see the catalogs that were shot in Virginia! How beautiful!
Check out this video from the latest B15 Threads, in which we 'break in' our boots to make them look cooler for the catalog!
If you end up trying this method yourself, be sure to check on your boots after each time you run over them and see how much they’ve been distressed- you don’t want to beat them beyond repair! Depending how much you want your boots wrecked up, you can also bang them off a sidewalk or in rocks!

Remember a while back when we asked for your help to pick out a poster from the pages of the May catalog? Well, we have a poster finished, and in a week or so we will have 100 of them, waiting and hoping to come to your home! We will send a poster of the picture shown above to the first 100 people to email their name and mailing address to blog.freepeople@gmail.com! (One poster per person.) Yay! Free poster!

This is my kitty Homer. He came from the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society shelter. He is a total ham!
Recently, I moved into a new apartment, and I have yet to get some good decorations on the walls. The fish bowl on the wall is my latest attempt to have something homey and interesting in the apartment. Ever since the fishy, Lou Reed, joined the clan, Homer's favorite hobby is watching him with extreme interest from every vantage point. It's hilarious! We caught this picture of him and I just really wanted to share it with you!
