Images of the Chinese new year celebrations are always so incredible. I love that they take each new year and the symbolism behind it so seriously. 2012 is the year of the dragon – a symbol of power, strength and luck…a year to take control and breathe fiery life into everything you do.
our creative director’s story about the flag:
“I have had this flag pinned up and ready to sew for months now but it never got sewn. But recently my dear, sweet mother came to visit and she took this flag home with her and she sewed for me so I would have it for the 4th of July!! Moms rule!!!”

we had a little fourth of july celebration at the office and everyone brought such amazing stuff! if you’re having, or going to, a party this weekend – here’s some tasty inspiration for things to serve or bring :)

remember our rainbow tie-dyed cupcakes? follow the same instructions using just red and blue dye, and then add some sprinkles on top!

memorial day weekend will always carry with it a sense of freedom and memories of that long weekend when i’d get out early from school and head to the shore with family and friends for beach, barbecues and SUN – the first taste of the languid summer days ahead. it has always been the beach for me, but there are tons of other getaways that would be wonderful this weekend…
camping under the stars…
a lake hidden by trees, preferably with a rope to swing out on…
wherever this is, i want to go there.
a weekend boating excursion would be amazing!
road trip…
…or bike trip!
crash at a friend’s house with a pool :)
and if you can’t go anywhere at all, build yourself a blanket fort :)
