I tend to live in cutoffs during the summer months, and I always find myself embellishing them or patching them in various ways to make them unique (I have proof: see my DIY Studded Cutoffs, DIY Updated Cutoffs, Floral Patch Cutoffs, and American Flag Cutoffs). This year I was inspired by our July catalog and its boy-meets-girl styling. I love the idea of incorporating girl elements into a boyish pair of shorts through patching with lace. It’s a great way to repair your shorts while simultaneously making them look even cuter! Read More
It’s day 1 of Coachella and we are in full festival spirit. As we enter into the amazing time that is festival season, we wanted to pull together a couple of our favorite festival-related DIYs! Some useful, some purely fun. Enjoy! Read More
UPDATE: This previously ran November the 6th but as holiday is approaching we thought we’d bring it back this weekend for some inspiration.
The festive season is approaching, that time of year when you feel like wearing little sparkly details. Our November catalog has now launched, and inside there’s a whole lot of magic. I wanted to bring the magic more to life by embellishing a plain pair of socks, adding a little bit of festive fun to an everyday outfit. Read More
Come winter all I seem to wear almost every day is my winter coat, and I must admit it does get a little boring. Your outfit changes underneath of course but because of the biting chill your coat becomes your number one piece for commuting. Over these last couple of weeks I’ve been thinking about ways to mix it up a little, adding in certain details that can make a difference, like brooches, a colorful scarf, embroideries or…an applique cuff that is so easy and quick to achieve. Shirts seem to be a trend everyone is diving into right now, including me. That preppy school girl is becoming cool again but there seems to be a twist. I’m seeing people buttoning their shirts right up to the top so the collar becomes a feature (see blog post here) and they’re not scared to get adventurous with it either. So here we’ve made our very own DIY where we’ve made the collar a little more decorative!
What you will need;
Measure the length of the collar and cut trim to size
Sew the trim around the collar
Then style as you wish, we love it under cropped sweaters
And here’s a little idea to jazz a shirt up a little for holiday season; buy some iron diamond, decorate the edges and shine on!
