It definitely doesn’t feel like the first day of February here in Philly… it’s supposed to be almost 65 degrees out today! But hey, I’ll take it. And, there’s a February 29th this year! Click here to download our February calendar in the horizontal or vertical version.
I love the FP calendars and have been using them for over a year now, but this year the images are such low quality (not in design, I mean by the size of the image etc). I really liked how last year the images were larger. Do you think you can make the images a higher resolution for the following 2012 calendars please?

It’s me again… writing my final guest post for the February Catalog! While working with our February photographer, Jason Lee Parry, we had the chance to meet and hang out with his girlfriend, Jenny Sirney. I was drawn to her California, model off duty, “Ginger” style. I had the chance to ask her some questions and take a few photos. Let me know if you love her just as much as I do!
Can you describe your personal style? 70’s California-motorcycle-gypsy If you could only wear 1 designer who would it be? Ooh that’s tough, it’s probably a tie between Balmain and Isabel Marant. Either way I’d get to wear rad trousers, cool ripped tees and sexy, glittery dresses. 3 favorite places to shop in LA? Bonadrag, well it’s a website but nevertheless they have the most amazing taste; The Rose Bowl flea market, and Chuck’s Vintage. I’m also into a local clothing line, Stone Cold Fox. One clothing item you can’t live without? I have a long black crochet dress that I found at my favorite thrift store and cut into a mini. I can wear it with platforms at night and boots during the day. Its perfect for the beach too, I wear it way too much. What clothing/accessory are you most wanting for spring? I’m really into the color nude for both clothing and accessories this spring, I usually like a lot of black so it’s a nice change. What’s in your make up bag? Chanel Sublimage Eye and Inimitable Intense mascara, Sephora glitter black eyeliner, Almay Smart Shade concealer, Anastasia brow gel and Burt’s Bees chapstick…I have a serious addiction to it.
Jenny loved our baha, fringe sweater from the February catalog and was sweet enough to have her super talented boyfriend snap a pic of her wearing it just for us!
And check out this video Jason and Jenny starred in for Cee Lo Green’s cover of the Band of Horses song “No One’s Gonna Love You” …it’s amazing.
yes i agree with Gisella!! the texture/curls/everything is so perfect and i’ve been trying to get that look for awhile now. a tutorial would be wonderful!
also, maybe a travel beauty tutorial. you guys are obviously traveling a lot, so what’s your beauty secrets and favorite products?! :)

our february catalog was shot in southern california by photographer jason lee parry and features models martha hunt, chrishell stubbs, jessica mau and noot seear. each model was chosen to represent one of the free people girls – ginger, candy, lou and meadow, and an overarching theme of love is present throughout. the catalog drops tuesday, stay tuned!!
these amazing photos were taken by our videographer and looking at them is just deepening my longing for spring…you can almost feel the sun radiating out of the images.
I’ve signed up more than twice, probably about 5x haha. The last one I got was october I think, and some months I won’t get one at all. i’ve emailed you guys and you replied saying ive been added to the list yet I never get them :(

february is always the toughest month for me to get through, even though it’s the shortest. winter’s charm has worn out and my mind turns entirely to spring. i have a family house at the beach and i don’t spend much time there in the winter, so by now i start to feel it calling to me…my heart aching for sand and surf and most of all sun. driving to the shore with the windows down and that familiar salt water smell as you near the ocean.
the need for spring and summer takes over my thoughts and each day that winter drags on feels more and more unbearable. i’m trying to fight the blues this month… jemma and i each put together a little survival kit of things that help us get through the waning days of winter!
here’s mine:
i’ve been in my apartment for over a year and i still don’t have a couch! time to fix that – i like the sixties look of this one. while the snow piles up outside i’ll put on some bob marley (catch a fire or burnin’) and break out the watercolors- getting into a hobby always helps when i’m cooped up inside. i love these little shorts that i can wear now with tights and in summer with flip flops to the beach! and i’m eyeing a backpack for the vacation i’m planning sometime soon – hopefully to somewhere warm! my next book, favorite lip balm, and this amazing hat, will come with me.
and from jemma:
February is here and Valentine’s Day isn’t that long away, I sure need some love to help me through this dreary month.
The cold weather is getting to be a little too much. This month I intend to indulge in my comfort zone – cozying up at night with welsh wool tapestry blankets burning one of my favorite scented candles, Baies by Diptyque, while I watch romantic comedies.
hey tammers! i had never heard of that movement…i can assure you that we in no way intended for the shirt to have any connection to that group. white wolves, also known as arctic wolves, are a rare breed of wolves thought by some to be magical and mythical creatures.
I have bought a free people shirt and found something very disturbing. The shirt displays a white wolf with the words “white wolves” surrounding it. As it turns out, the “white wolves” are an extremeist skinhead nazi movement from Connecticut.

there used to be a widescreen version, is that still happening?
i would like everything
