Store Style: Best Dressed

We’ve got party dresses on the brain! And with so many great options to choose from, finding that perfect dress is no problem – but picking just one might be! To help, we turned to our stylish New York fp girls to tell us which dresses they love most this season and how they’d style them.

The Miles of Lace Dress is one of our absolute favorites this season – I love how it looks paired with the ruffle leggings!! This dress is incredibly versatile – wear it to something more casual by paring it with a floppy hat, fringe bag, and fur vest. Add some fun accessories like the arrow feather hair clip and a fringe necklace. If you’re going somewhere a bit dressier, try pairing it with a velvet blazer, black platforms and a turban!

The Gold Rush Knit Dress is one of my favorites – I love the colors and the texture.  Dress it down with tights, knee socks and tall boots, with a maxi cardigan or robe like the moon duster maxi over top. Or, go for a dressier look with tights, studded ankle boots, the vegan leather jacket and dripped chain headpiece.

I love this look! Pair the vegan leather dress with a button down shirt or cardigan and some cute shoes.

This is such a cute combination! The Crochet and Lace Sweater Dress worn with the Bamboo Stripes Crop Top, Boucle Textured Jacket and Saffi Lace-Up Boot.

The beautiful Show Pony Dress, worn with tights, boots and accentuated with turquoise rings.

The Show Pony Dress again, worn with the Almond Suede Wedge, Floppy Hat, Variety Rib Cardigan, Embroidered Midtown Jacket and Ihamana Scarf.

For a cool rock ‘n’ roll look, pair the Gold Rush Dress with a Plaid Button Down, the Vegan Leather Jacket, Scarf, Darla Platform and Clutch.

A cute casual look: the FP Beach Mitered Maxi, Margarita Textured Scarf and Denim Jacket.

Dress up the same maxi by wearing a cute cami over top!

Thanks for all the great styling ideas, ladies!!

Details: Hair Style

I always find so much hair inspiration here in the office – we have girls who are experts at perfecting their ‘do.  It’s funny though, I think about half of the girls whose hair I took a photo of said they were having a bad hair day – but I think they all look awesome! That’s what is so great about things like hats, turbans, twists and cute little buns on top of your head – you may think you’re having a bad hair day but to everyone else you look completely put together and fashionable.

The Zigzag Turban is quite the trend today!

(I’ve got my eye on this adorable new head wrap – so perfect for the holidays!)

Thursday Poll: Hung Up on Prints Collection

One day while I was walking back from getting lunch, an adorable little clothesline caught my eye. A collection of printed bras hung all in a row, fastened by wooden clothespins and swaying in the wind. A bit later the scene was up on our site as the gateway for our “Hung Up on Prints” collection of printed bras. The assortment is out of this world. I almost want to buy one of each and recreate the scene in my bedroom.

Which would you pick for your clothesline?

My Mod Wall

You all saw Julia’s mod inspiration yesterday, and now here’s a peak into what mod means to me. I chose the image above because I love the outfit’s chic ladylike look. She’s sophisticated, but creative, and everyone wants a look into her world.

Boucle Textured Jacket, Polka Dot Blouse, Thermal Shortie, and Leigh Platform Ankle Boot

Housewares: Clock. This clock is so modern with its clean lines and stark contrasts. I can’t help but think back to the days of mod. Its roundness also mirrors the polka dots in her blouse.

Hobbie: Painting. When I think of the mod days Andy Warhol pops into my head. I think this was an extremely creative time, and I picture our girl in a studio apartment, inspired by Warhol and painting away.

The muse: My grandmother. This is a photo that I stole from one of my grandparents many photo albums. The pages are packed with my grandma in retro clothing, always maintaining herself in a feminine and proper way. The highly styled hair, the blouses, and especially the coats all remind me of the mod image.

Animal: Zebra. Wild souls that have never been tamed…they run free as a bold contrast throughout their environment. The mod woman is attracted to their vivacity, and can’t help but love that pattern…

The Scent: Miss Dior Cherie. The bottle is so prim and proper, but the scent inside is kind of funky. I picture this girl having the bottle sitting on her vanity as she gets ready each morning.

Thursday Poll: Which Sweater is Better?

In the switch from Spring to Summer I gave away a bunch of sweaters to make room in my dresser drawers. I’m now beginning to regret that decision as cooler air moves in and I’m getting bored with my current options. I’ve been looking around for pieces to fill the void, and The Weather Pattern: Fairisle and Nordic collection on the Free People website has some great options built in there. I’m loving these patterns and chunky knits.

Which sweater do you think is better?

Store Style for Fall

A great batch of photos from our various store gals showing looks they love for fall!

Love this look of the extreme velvet flares worn with the 2-pocket sheer crop top over the glitter mesh layering top.

The americana sweater jumper looks so cute with the printed thermal cropped bralette, fringe and feather hair clip and textured tall sock.

I love how she dressed up the velvet overalls with the pretty gini lace top and leopard clutch.

Everything about this look rocks! The lace bell bottom, the lovebug thermal layered over the floral burnout henley, the chainmail bib necklace and the hair!

Perfect fall look: the gypsy lover maxi skirt, graphic henley, slouchy velvet blazer and brit boot (and Dillinger!).

We love layering with the maxi robe! Pictured is the moon duster maxi worn over the swiss dot seamless slip with a scarf.

A great boho look: the extreme vintage flare, pleated lace trim crop top and zigzag print turban.

Or for a chillier day, the extreme vintage flare with the cannaregio mesh top, floral woven pullover and velvet turban.

You can wear a sleeveless dress in fall! Just add a layering top like the dotted lace tee underneath! Looks extra cute with the knitted ranger hat.

You can never have too many layers! The lovebug thermal, crochet back plaid button-down, denim shirt, margarita texture scarf, vegan leather shorts, floral tight and hacienda lace-up boot.

The color of this cashmere shrug cardigan is gorgeous! Looks lovely with the extreme velvet flares.

This is such a cute grunge look! The lace bell bottoms, graphic muscle tee and plaid button-down.

And last but not least, give your bodycon a little twist by adding a pop of color underneath! Pictured: the fp spun velvet leaf dress, seamless slip, brit boot and boucle textured jacket (my new love – i just bought it!).

You all look amazing ladies!

Office Style: Another Fall Day

It’s definitely fall. The office was filled with cozy looks to prove it. Sweaters, boots, and jackets were at every turn.

I knew I loved these boots, they give this outfit that special added touch.

Her knit hat is so cute! And I love the surprise detailing in her tights.

The Embroidered Midtown Jacket – perfect for fall!

Her top was so cool. I love how intricate it is in its detailing.
