My favorite kind of accessories are the ones that instantly expand the options already existing in my closet: A statement belt, a removable collar, and hat bands to name just a few. The latter of those three just happens to be a ridiculously easy DIY that you can whip up in mere minutes. Read More
What I love about this week’s Style File is how natural and effortless she is. Her style is very laid back, and has a strong infusion of FP girl Lou (funny, Lou happens to be her pup’s name too). Her look is never over the top or flashy – just always put together and cute. She wears easy tees, and some fun statement pieces. It all comes together for a perfect “girl next door” kind of vibe. This week’s StyleFile is an effortless beauty who’s style has a laid back California beach vibe. I don’t know if it’s her long, wavy blonde locks, the colorful friendship bracelets, or the heart tattoo on her wrist that scream Cali, but it’s definitely there. She wears a lot of stellar grunge pieces – ripped and splattered jeans, a slouchy knit hat, baggy tees, and kicks. She’ll then mix it up with an awesome Native American inspired necklace or poncho. There’s no doubt, she looks like your quintessential American girl – active and full of life. Her vivacity can’t be restricted with pompous or tailored clothing – she has no time for that.
This photo makes me want Summer. And colorful bracelets…
She takes the formality out of a cable knit sweater with fringe layering
In this cold Winter weather, everyone needs a good throw on poncho to stay warm.
I always find so much hair inspiration here in the office – we have girls who are experts at perfecting their ‘do. It’s funny though, I think about half of the girls whose hair I took a photo of said they were having a bad hair day – but I think they all look awesome! That’s what is so great about things like hats, turbans, twists and cute little buns on top of your head – you may think you’re having a bad hair day but to everyone else you look completely put together and fashionable.
The Zigzag Turban is quite the trend today!
I’ve been obsessing over hats lately like crazy. I see so many cute pictures of girls wearing them with prairie dresses, rock T-shirts and polka dots. Whenever I throw on a hat I feel like a different person… like I’m in character… it’s kinda fun. It makes me feel like I need to be a performer for the day!! I think I need one in my life. There are so many adorable styles out there.
The look I’m chasing at the moment on the hat front is that naïve folksy look, the prairie look made accidentally cool. Mixing a hippie dress with a polka dot shirt, then either a bowler hat or fedora or if I just wanted an easy care free day – a vintage rock tee, dirty denims and yep topped off with any hat.
I gotten hat crazy this month but my life has been made easy with the great selection that is right here on our web.
