Must-haves for your next beach day!
My favorite kind of accessories are the ones that instantly expand the options already existing in my closet: A statement belt, a removable collar, and hat bands to name just a few. The latter of those three just happens to be a ridiculously easy DIY that you can whip up in mere minutes. Read More
Fall is quickly approaching and that means that beanie season is, too! We certainly love the look of a beanie on a summer night every now and again, but when the weather gets cold, beanies are a must – and we’re so stoked about it. Read More
Wear a hat – even if you never have before. Especially if you never have before. Hats have this amazing ability to pull together an entire outfit. They can even make a plain jeans-and-tee combo look absolutely exquisite.
Hats are always one of my go-to accessories no matter what season it is. They can really add that extra touch and complete an outfit — not to mention they are perfect to throw on if your hair isn’t quite up to par in the morning. In the winter, I’m all about the beanies. During the summertime, wide brims are my favorite. They can keep you cool and shade your face from the sun, so the wider the better in my opinion! We have a handful of hats online right now that are made out of lightweight materials in fun shapes, so I wanted to show how I would style three of my favorites:
A beanie is an essential for winter, it keeps your head toasty and it looks super cute, too! It goes with anything and is perfect for long walks outside. We’re grateful that there is such a wide range of styles out there, in color, texture, and structure. We love wearing them with sweaters, with leather jackets, with coats, with tees, with dresses…absolutely anything. Read More
I am 100% a summer person but I will say that I love fall fashion and one of the major components that comes with it – hats! It’s just too hot to wear hats most of the time in the summer, and this time of year there are so many awesome options to cover your head with and keep cozy. Here are some of our favorite hats this season! Read More
Sometimes, as winter blankets our surroundings with its bitter chill, it’s tough to stay fashionably motivated. Rising out of bed in the morning involves a laborious upheaval from an all-too-comfortable toasty nest. The last thing you want to do is spend time, half-naked in a drafty bedroom, pulling an outfit together. It tends to turn into, “grab the first items in your drawer, and pile them on as fast as you can.”
To dress well as the air gets chillier though, we’ve come to realize that the under layer becomes less important. To pull off a great look that won’t leave you freezing, it’s all about that top winter layer. Here, some of the Free People girls show us how to move into the new season while keeping it fresh with a few of our favorite jackets. They remind us that a good scarf and hat can go a long way to trap in heat, and, don’t forget, the season’s must-have item – a pair of killer close-toed boots. All of these things – jacket, boots, and winter accessories – will help you bring those easy under layers into the new season.
Oh yes, the jacket is reversible! This look on our New Romantics Design Assistant is perfect for heading out to a holiday party. She’s wearing: Ana’s Beaded Party Dress, FP One Reversible Fur Parka, Jonesy Heeled Hiker boots, and an old Free People necklace much like this one.
Our Visual Merchandiser is the master of layering and quirky details. She’s wearing: The Royal Blue Peacoat, FP Skinny Cords, Lacy Layering Top, cropped tank like this one, La Bourse Plaid Button-Down, Northern Lights Boots, and the Regal Stone Necklace.
Looking rock-n-roll ready, our Sample Coordinator is wearing: the Embellished Leather Jacket, Fishnet Long Sleeve Top, FP High Waisted Textured Shorts, London Opaque Tights, Vegan Docs, and the Eclipse Necklace.
I always find so much hair inspiration here in the office – we have girls who are experts at perfecting their ‘do. It’s funny though, I think about half of the girls whose hair I took a photo of said they were having a bad hair day – but I think they all look awesome! That’s what is so great about things like hats, turbans, twists and cute little buns on top of your head – you may think you’re having a bad hair day but to everyone else you look completely put together and fashionable.
The Zigzag Turban is quite the trend today!
i couldn’t help myself, i had to do a post about these amazing pieces that we are carrying by hollywood trading. born out of a love for vintage handmade american leather belts, the company has evolved to carry accessories and apparel for men and women with an aesthetic that is heavily vintage inspired, handmade and rough hewn. personally, i’m a sucker for straw hats and these two are quite special with features like hand-painting, hand-tooled leather, metal and stud details, and they are made out of hemp and canapa. love!
