Getting to the Root of the Icelandic skincare line’s origins…
“We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, other souls.” — Anais Nin
Today I wanted to share one final batch of the incredible behind the scenes images from our November catalog shoot in Iceland. I keep going back and looking through these images, again and again. There is something so powerful about the landscape, from the massive ice formations and vast open spaces… it reminds you how small you and your problems really are. As a Scorpio, I fall under the water element, so these photos really speak to me. Read More
Our November catalog is divided into 5 chapters, each representing a different element. For the air and earth segments, our catalog team headed all the way to Iceland to use its breathtaking landscape as the backdrop for these two elements. Read More
Have you guys seen these amazing installations in Iceland by artist Theresa Himmer? The Mountain series consists of these large-scale sequin street art installations, “Glacier,” “Volcano” and “Waterfall.” The use of sequins allows them to reflect light, making them sparkle and appear to come alive like actual ripples of water or molten lava. I would love to see them in person!
i am sooo jealous because while they were in iceland our team got to visit the blue lagoon! one of iceland’s top attractions, the blue lagoon is a natural hot spring of geothermal seawater that is probably not only incredibly relaxing, but its really good for your skin too. the lagoon is situated in a lava field, and the water temperature ranges from 98-102 degrees! it sounds, and looks, heavenly. plus there’s a restaurant and hotel there that overlook the lagoon!
images, except for top two, via the blue lagoon website. can someone take me there now, please?
the first shot!
their wheels for the week! they shot all over iceland, which they told me is quite small.
looks like such an amazing experience :)
the dramatic landscape of iceland was the perfect backdrop for the final chapter of our november catalog, wrap me in a sweater. rocky cliffs, open fields, wild horses, snow-capped glaciers, icy blue water that blends into the sky and a dreamy mist settling over it all…
…these photos taken by our producer don’t even look real.
i love this photo of our creative director.
