When I first saw these black and white striped tights on our site, I was like “YES.” They’re so simple, yet kind of crazy at the same time. At first glance, they seem tough to style, but I think the ideal way to do it is to balance them out with a simple outfit. Read More
Fresh neons and loud brights have been popping all over the office lately. We love a good statement neon top and fun bracelets. We’re even scooping up neon computer cases. How do we like it styled? We love pairing the shades back to black so they really pop. Check out how we’re wearing neon for spring. Read More
This week’s Style File always manages to look cute, but is never too fussy or over the top. Overall her looks have a simple beauty to them. There’s a definite Lou vibe coming through in the practical and cozy looks she gravitates towards. The look is usually centered around one knockout piece – a scarf, an awesome dress, or a pretty slip. She’ll then through the Lou vibe for a loop with some Candy thrown in there in either a feminine print or flirty lace and ruffles.
Throw a cozy sock on under your boots to live out the rest of the winter season.
We love colorful bracelets!
The Voile Trapeze Slip in Tea!
You can’t go wrong with an awesome leather cuff bracelet – check out the Turquoise Studded Belt Bracelet on our site right now.
We’re getting sick of pants. All winter long its pants, pants, pants. Now, in the name of fashion, we’re rebelling. We’re pulling on tights for an extra layer, and getting out stowed away women’s shorts, skirts and dresses. For the last week in January “vs.” office style, I want to know – which winter rebellion look do you like best? It’s the shorts vs. the dresses….
You can never go wrong with a good thermal.
The Cropped Stripes Pullover looks great with this sparkly maxi skirt!
So in love with the Costas Striped Maxi Dress Look!
I’ve always thought that our Senior Graphic Designer has amazing style, but for some reason I was under the impression that she was one of those who aren’t a big fan of having their photo taken. I’ve since discovered that I was wrong, and so to make up for lack of showcasing this woman’s amazing style, I decided to feature her as this week’s Style File.
One great aspect to our Graphic Designer’s fashion is her keen eye for texture and pattern. She understands pieces, and how to show off their interesting features. For example, she’ll layer a fun color underneath to show off a top layer’s loose knit, or she’ll call attention to a bold, retro-inspired pattern by stacking it up with basics. Either way, she’s great at creating a balance so that her looks never look like too much.
I’m also a HUGE fan of this woman’s ring collection. She has a great assortment of chunky knuckle decoration full of cute animals and edgy cuts. She’s not afraid to pile on the rings, and will often pair them back to a sweet choker.
Equally as impressive, is her awesome shoe collection. She’s a big heel girl, and her shoes always have attitude. The good sturdy heel gives her look a nicely confident spin.
Overall, her wardrobe of fun pieces is gutsy and playful. It never gets boring seeing what this girl is going to wear to the office.
Try a great choker with a collared shirt to get the look. The Tribal Triangle Collar is a great option to do it with at an easy price .
This week’s style file is no wuss. She’s decorated with tats, and sports a dark bob which give a toughness to any look she wears. The actual outfits she pulls together tend to lean on the girly side, creating a nice balance with the permanent edgyness. She loves tights and cute flared mini’s. She peppers in ditzy prints, lace, and feminine detailing. And then there are the shoes, she has a collection of stunners – your ordinary black ankle boot wedges, but with badass elements. Overall, she has a great mix of tough and sweet. Check out her week in style:
This week’s Style File is one of our adorable styling assistants. All day long she runs around the web studio making sure that looks get shot, that they look good, and that the process moves along in an organized smooth manner. It’s tough work, but she’s always cheery and relaxed. Having moved here from Austin, TX (jealous? I think so), maybe it’s her southern roots that spark this kind of attitude.
Her style on the other hand, does not remind me Austin. It’s much more sophisticated – tailored even – though, it, like her personality, has a touch of kookiness. It’s a pea coat and lady-like dress paired with…knee highs? You half expect it to be prim and proper from head-to-toe, but then she confuses you like that. It’s great! She doesn’t take herself too seriously but she has great taste in sophisticated pieces. Check it out…

It’s the season for giving gifts, and we just launched our Holiday Boutiques last week full of great gift ideas. It can be a little overwhelming when it comes to picking out the perfect present, so we decided to ask our store ladies across the country what would be on their wishlist this year!
Haley, Farmington CT: Socks!
“I just bought both colors of the broken arrow soft socks! And i know once my sisters see them they’ll want them too, so I think they are the perfect gift/stocking stuffer!”
(I have to agree, I am wearing these socks today and they are the BEST.)
Brandi, Shrewsbury NJ: Bralettes
“Our bralettes are the best FP gift for the holiday season – they are the perfect add-on to any outfit for a pop of print or a dash of sparkle!”
“I love the idea of these three pieces as a gift together – each item is really unique and versatile or can be worn on its own; the pullover sweater with a pair of denim shorts and tights, the lace buttondown with a beautiful black skirt and the feather clip on any day of the week. But the beautiful thing is that if someone wanted to put a look together as a gift all of these items would look amazing put together.”
Raven, Atlanta GA: The Ruffle Legging
“The ruffle leggings are fun, funky and sexy! I think every lady should rock a pair of these.”
Morgan, Portland OR: Stockings for your stockings!
“Socks are a great way to help your loved ones stay cozy this holiday season! Socks are one of life’s often over-looked luxuries that many don’t often splurge on for themselves. Such an easy way to feel pampered and spoiled! Plus, sizing is usually not an issue :) ”
Niree, Hollywood CA:
The second photo are my top gift giving picks! They include the Voile and Lace Slip, Floral Kimono, the MUST HAVE Miles of Lace Dress, the amazing Crafty Cuff Thermal in mustard, Legwarmers, Feather Hair Clips, the Chain Double Wrap Belt and an amazing Scarf. You can’t go wrong with any of these items!!!”

We’re layering up to brace the elements here in Philly today. It’s one of the coolest days we’ve had yet this fall and boy is that wind slap-in-the-face cold. There’s no doubt we have tights on underneath our shorts, and those jackets are no longer an option, but a necessity. Of course, that doesn’t stop the lovely Free People ladies from throwing on an ace outfit. Check out how we’re doing it today…
The Jenny Floppy Hat gets me every time…
This is the very first vintage dress she ever bought, and now she has a whole closet full. I love pieces with great stories like this.
There’s a cool factor to leather jackets that nothing else quit seems to pull off.
I love this casual look with the We The Free Oversized Fleece Moto Jacket.
We’ve got party dresses on the brain! And with so many great options to choose from, finding that perfect dress is no problem – but picking just one might be! To help, we turned to our stylish New York fp girls to tell us which dresses they love most this season and how they’d style them.
The Miles of Lace Dress is one of our absolute favorites this season – I love how it looks paired with the ruffle leggings!! This dress is incredibly versatile – wear it to something more casual by paring it with a floppy hat, fringe bag, and fur vest. Add some fun accessories like the arrow feather hair clip and a fringe necklace. If you’re going somewhere a bit dressier, try pairing it with a velvet blazer, black platforms and a turban!
The Gold Rush Knit Dress is one of my favorites – I love the colors and the texture. Dress it down with tights, knee socks and tall boots, with a maxi cardigan or robe like the moon duster maxi over top. Or, go for a dressier look with tights, studded ankle boots, the vegan leather jacket and dripped chain headpiece.
Thanks for all the great styling ideas, ladies!!

It might be fall, but I don’t know that we’re completely ready to fully cover up those legs. Tights are a great way to bring shorts and other summer items into the cooler weather. They’re also really fun to wear with all the different statements they can make. Will your legs be sexy, loud, fun, or warm – what kind of tight are you wearing for fall?

Tomorrow is the first day of September! I can’t believe fall is almost upon us. But don’t put away your favorite summer shorts, skirts or tanks just yet! You can still layer with these items going into fall and create some really cute silhouettes that are right on trend. Jemma and I worked with our videographer to make this little video showing how to style your favorite summer outfit into fall!
