Blogger Diary: My Week in Photos

The highlight of my work week? See here.

Taking pictures and styling clothes, my thirst for creativity and inspiration was well satiated that day. The euphoria of childlike happiness tightened my cheeks and pulled the corners of my mouth up into a googely grin that never left my face. Shooting and collaborating with these beautiful & talented bloggers was something of an out of body experience – one where you pinch yourself… hard. Myself six months ago, the girl who liked to dink around with the camera gifted by her parents (one of the best gifts I’ve ever received btw), would never have thought I’d be doing this. I’ve always enjoyed photography as a side thing – especially the portrait and fashion genres, but I sort of stumbled into getting to do it on the regular for work. Free People has opened doors to explore my hobby in ways I’d never imagined.

I love being at work & I love what I do, but outside of the office I’ve been pretty busy too. I’m always sure to fill my weekends with adventures:  brunching, city jaunts, record sorting, flea markets, nights out with friends, and of course, shopping. It keeps me moving and it keeps me inspired. Life has been a whirlwind of fun and love.

I’ve snapped some photos along the way to document…

Blogger Diary: A Perfect Saturday

This weekend was my favorite kind of weekend. Sleep in Saturday morning, wake up bleary eyed and warm under my blankets, throw on some clothes and head to my nearby bar for a leisurely brunch.  The fire is crackling and the burning wood is a welcome scent in the morning. Then we’re off on a mission to find a vintage camera strap for my new camera.   I tried some of the local Old City boutiques but no luck at any of those (although I did walk out of one with a cozy new sweater with suede elbow patches).  We stopped at a couple thrift and antique stores in the South Street/Bella Vista area before making our way back to Old City for the night – the photos below are from Anastacia’s Antiques, a pretty cool spot on Bainbridge between 6th and 7th, and we also stopped at Retrospect on South Street, which usually has some great vintage finds.   The holidays have really taken over the city and I find myself craving a heavy snow fall… I love it when the streets are blanketed in white drifts of silence.

Happy Friday!

What’s everyone doing this weekend? I wanted to tell you about an amazing art show taking place in Philadelphia so if you live in the area listen up!

Two of our fp girls have teamed up to put on a show at Reward in Old City, Philadelphia, called “A Distant Land to Roam.” The opening is tonight and several of us fp girls will be there. I can’t wait – to say these girls are talented is an understatement! Here’s a little sneak peek:

So amazing – I’m going to take some photos at the show to share with you guys!

nyc

On Saturday morning I’m heading to New York City! On Saturday I plan on spending some time in my favorite part of the city, Brooklyn, and doing some vintage shopping and maybe hitting up an art show. I’m staying at the Bowery House – I’m excited to check this place out, it’s a great option for anyone on a budget, and looks super cool.

Then on Sunday I’m heading to the Upper East Side for the event at Free People 3rd Ave, where I’ll be running a DIY ornament station from 12-5pm! If you’re in the area come hang out!!

Follow Your Feet

What is everybody doing this weekend? It’s First Friday in Philly, it’s Fall – meaning fun stuff like apple picking and pumpkin carving – and Monday is a holiday (for some)!

We just launched this shoe lookbook on our website and I can’t stop looking at it. I love all the little scenarios they created, depicting pretty much everything I want to be doing this weekend – zipping around the city on a scooter or bike, chilling in the park with a book and a puppy, picking up groceries for a dinner party, hitting up a concert, or having brunch with a best friend or loved one.

Weekend Getaways: Camping

I have this sudden urge to go camping… I think its this time of year, it’s a little bit cooler out and I just want to wander, lose myself among tall trees, write in my journal, and wake up to watch the sun rise.
