vintage free people!

Recently, one of our Facebook friends wrote in and asked if we had some photos of the Free People line from back in the 1980’s! Luckily for her, and for all of us, our Assistant Art Director Carrie was kind enough to put together this little video! It features items from the very beginning, when Urban Outfitters was just starting back in the 70’s and had one little shop in West Philadelphia, called The Free People’s Store. Then it moves on through the 1980’s to our inception as a separate brand, and evolves on to now! It’s really fun to see our development over time and look at all the vintage Free People styles! Enjoy!

This was really neat to see! The transformations through the decades is hysterical!
It’s also very nice to see a much broader representation of girls as well as women of color being used as models as time progressed~
