quilted inspiration

our current creative theme “quilted memories” has had me thinking about my quilt that i started making last year.  i’m ashamed to admit it has been sitting in a box full of fabric for months now waiting for me to return to it, but during sunny spring and summer months i find it hard to spend any time inside working on it.  however, these images are definitely inspiring me to get back to work…

all of these blow me away. i definitely don’t have the artistic ability to make anything as amazing as these, but they’re giving me some great ideas… have any of you ever tried making a quilt?

  1. Wow those quilts are beautiful!! Much much different than the ones my Granny used to make!! I am SO going to take up quilting now…you’ve inspired me FP! ;)

  2. I am a Fibers major at University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and I took a class where we got to hand die fabrics with the intent of making a quilt of some sort. It was such an amazing and educational class I learned so much! This gives me inspiration to make another quilt and die more fabric. keep up the amazing inspiration for my own art. It really helps to get me going.

  3. Your grandmother was a quilter — she was an artist! The source of some of your creativity (and love of quilts)… (Yes, you do have the artistic ability!)

  4. I am loving this theme! Writing to kick you in the butt to finish the one you started. Maybe the FPgirls want to make one together to learn on and share & have fun?

Here are a few I made, there are more! I’ll get some pics together after this weekend & put ’em up. Hold on, there are a couple you will like!
There are a couple coming up you might like! Hold on, have to get them unpacked. ;)
