our director of design and image is taking part in an event this weekend called “yoga stops traffick,” with the goal of helping the odanadi organization put an end to human trafficking in india. last year 1,500 people joined together in yoga studios, parks, beaches and mountaintops around the world to show their support. the event takes place tomorrow, march 12th, all over the world. here in philly you can join in at mount airy yoga between noon and 2 pm, and provide a suggested donation of $20. for more info click here.

thursday poll – edition 125
our march lookbook is up online! i love how colorful it is…it’s making me crave spring for sure. which outfit is your favorite?
look three: either or :)
it’s between 2 and 8 for me…i’m torn.
an item we love: mochila bags
the amazing mochila bags featured in our march catalog are a true labor of love.
each bag is hand woven by tribeswomen of the sierra nevada de santa marta in northern colombia, an act of tradition that has been practiced for thousands of years as a way of preserving their culture and earning a livelihood. they believe that the act of weaving is a symbol of creativity, intelligence and wisdom, a practice that is passed on from one generation to the next, and the patterns woven into the bags are said to have a spiritual and cosmological significance. the history of these bags and all of the care that goes into them makes them extremely special – something to be cherished for a lifetime.
a third of the profits for each bag sold go to different community-based initiatives aimed at children and at supporting female artisans from indigenous communities in south america.
i love how they look styled in our march catalog – the prints on the bags look awesome mixed with some of the bolder black and white prints in the clothing.
personally, i’ve got my eye on this one… i think it’s the beach bag i’ve been looking for my whole life. the perfect colors, the perfect size…i laid out what i’d pack for a day at the beach.
items pictured: crochet bikini, borderline fringe sweater, daisy chain shorts, mandy braided sandal, sunglasses, lorimer straw hat, raggy desert scarf, pattern mochila woven bucket.
Odylyne
Here’s another designer that we have featured in our March book –
ODYLYNE, is derived from all things beautiful. A simple concept and blend of bohemian and vintage styles with a touch of modern, clean lines. The inspiration behind the designs are also deeply rooted in the hippie chic world…where female artist set trends while breaking the rules of tongue-in-cheek fashion. The concept stays true to its original theme of creating the whimsical drama of mystery and sexiness without all the fuss. It just feels good and makes being a goddess pretty damn effortless.
The dress is a show stopper and can be easily dressed up or down. Here’s a little interview about the brand

sweet lou
there’s a new girl in the office, and i am in love. meet louisiana, lou for short, the newest member of the fp pup family! she belongs to our retail operations coordinator and is a cairn terrier and australian shepherd mix. her markings and colors are so unique she almost looks wild! but she is the softest and sweetest thing ever…she was so sleepy when i took these pictures.
why are you waking me?
and here she is hard at work on mom’s desk today…
she kills me.
wednes-diy
i made my first vintage loves purchase the other week and i was so happy when it arrived in its lovely little tie dye bag! i totally forgot about them! i adore the colors and i want to be able to use it as a tote bag this summer, so i decided i’d add a handle!
this is super easy. all you need is a needle and thread, and whatever you want to use for the handle. i used a fabric belt that was part of an old coat i don’t even have anymore, but for some reason i kept the belt.
i sewed the strap onto the inside of the bag, below the drawstring – i wanted to still be able to pull the bag closed with the drawstring.
and that’s it!
in case you missed it, check out our post from this summer when we showed you how we make the tie-dye bags!
Beach.
Beach season is on its way and we’re indulging in relaxed items that can easily be rolled up in into a beach bag and make for the perfect day from day to night. Here’s about beach!
old san juan
a narrow island where blue water meets lush green fields, stone walls rise up out of the sea and cobblestone streets are lined with buildings the colors of sunset…here are some photos of our march catalog location, old san juan – the heart and soul of puerto rico.
these lovely photos were taken by our producer.
and…martha off duty!
earlier today we showed you martha ON duty, and here she is off duty, looking awesome in our new romantics cala luna top, skinny jeans and our lace oxfords with striped socks!
thanks to our stylist for taking these pics!
martha on duty
martha hunt is one of our favorite models to work with – in our web studio and on catalog shoots, she consistently brings an amazing attitude and free spirited beauty. this past friday, our web studio did a special shoot with martha and had her style all her own outfits, as well as give makeup and hair direction. i got to watch and take some photos, and i must say… i have a little bit of a girl crush on martha!
she is so fun and full of personality, and the second she sets foot on set she is all business and works the camera like no other. here’s a little behind the scenes look at martha ON duty, along with the final shots our photographer took of the five looks she styled.
in this look: runaway lace kaftan, IRO vova chain short, jade covered wedge.
in this look: lace cropped kaftan, suede circle skirt, crosby platform.
in this look: suede circle skirt, blank boy blue denim shirt, crochet bralette, napoli corset sandal.
in this look: rib & lace maxi slip, doma studded leather jacket, ophelia platform boot.

so i’m curious, which outfit styled by martha is your favorite?
