Fashion’s Night Out: Meet the Band, Adam and Dave’s Bloodline

We are so excited to have one of our favorite bands performing at our 5th Avenue store for Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday! Let’s get to know them a little bit better…

Where were you when you wrote your first song? What was it about?
Dave and I wrote our first songs together sitting on a cement wall in a parking lot of a fleabag hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas. It would have most definitely been about unrequited love for one girl or another.

If your music was a place, where would it be?
A month long road trip across the Iberian peninsula.

Is there a certain song you’re most proud of?
‘Easy Enough For Me’ is probably the song we’re proudest of. Every part of it came together so well and works towards the common good. It makes me feel like I’m on a deserted beach at sundown with no past and no future.

What artists have had the greatest influence on you musically?
Most influential would probably be Neil Young, The Band, The Replacements, Ramones, and Bob Dylan. Weird America- the old and the new.

Do fashion and style influence your sound?
In the sense of taking different familiar elements and combining them in a new way to create your own personal aesthetic- we do that all the time. In that way style and music are can be very similar.

What sort of music do you listen to? What’s on your ipod right now?
Lately we’ve been jamming to Doug Sahm, Graham Nash, The War On Drugs, and ‘Hot Tropics’ by The Growlers. They’re probably my favorite new California band. Dark existential surf rock.

Tell me something most people don’t know about you.
We’re pretty heart on sleeve folks around here. We’ll tell you what we really think about the world if you want- but if you get us started we go off the chain pretty quickly.

Check out some tunes on their myspace page.

Don’t miss them LIVE Thursday night at 8PM at our 5th Avenue store (790 5th Ave, NYC)! For more info on what we’re doing for Fashion’s Night Out check out the Facebook event.
