My favorite grocery store is Wholefoods. I love just walking through their prepared foods and gazing at all of the deliciousness. One day I saw these black bean quesadillas there that sparked my imagination. Read More
I saw these Bicycle Portraits on Miss Moss and was so intrigued by the photos and the story behind them. Over the course of a 2 year journey in South Africa, Stan Engelbrecht & Nic Grobler compiled portraits and stories from over 500 cyclists. The beautiful photographs have been divided into three books, each containing 55 stories as well as essays by local South African and major international cycling figures.
On their website, the photos are displayed along with the location of where the photo was taken, pin-pointed on a google map. In the books, the photos are laid out with little water-color depictions of the maps – so lovely and creative!
When it comes to Valentine’s Day (or any day for that matter!) there’s nothing better than a handmade gift from the heart. On Saturday February 11th, head on over to your local Free People boutique and make something special for your Valentine. Read More
As you may recall, we had a little contest this month in conjunction with our January catalog and its NY vs. LA theme. We picked a winner for each city, and now its time to learn a little bit more about these stylish ladies – up first, our LA winner, Eva of Cathedral City, California!
Her winning photo, rocking our sheer printed romper with a belt and turquoise accessories.
I definitely love the diversity that exists in L.A. It’s this huge melting pot of all kinds of people…mostly strange people [haha], but that is what makes L.A. interesting and unique. It’s one of those cities where self expression is a must.
Three words that best describe California style are: Cool, chic, and trendy.
How would you describe your personal style? Which Free People girl are you?
I would have to say I’m Meadow and Ginger mixed into one!! I love the relaxed, carefree, bohemian look when I’m out during the day running errands, shopping, or having lunch/coffee with friends. But I definitely appreciate a sexy mini dress paired with 5 inch platforms when I’m hitting the town!
What is your favorite trend this season?
Colorblocking seems very popular this season…haven’t tried it yet, but definitely something I would love to try. Who knew that not matching could ever look so cute?!?!
There’s a distinct trend in fashion that has been extremely noticeable around the office these past few months. Employees are embracing their feminine side with a look marked by retro-inspired blouses, peter pan collars, and oxford shoes. The flouncy shirts of the 40’s and 50’s are getting their second life – coming back styled with the coolness of inspirations like Alexa Chung. The retro look couldn’t be more refined and sophisticated, yet adventurous and hip at the same time. We like to pair the lady-like retro pieces back to jumpers and floppy hats for a look that we love so much, we’ve launched a new FP Girl inspired by the trend. Stay tuned next week to learn all about her, but for now, here’s a bit of ladylike and cool inspiration from around the Free People home offices…
You may typically think “maxi” when you think of Free People, but this coming Spring we’re mixing it up, and delving into an assortment of mini’s. They’re fun and flirty – definitely a playful item to have in your wardrobe. Some are sexier while others are more lady-like. Which style do you all prefer? Read More
I have been so excited to share our February catalog sneak peek, featuring one of my favorite models – Freja Beha Erichsen! She brings an amazing edgy attitude to our tomboy Lou styles and looks beyond gorgeous showing a softer Candy and Meadow side as well. The catalog was shot by Joshua Allen and drops next week – here’s a little preview!
