Bronson Cave “Light Paintings” by Brice Bischoff

The first time I saw these photographs by Brice Bischoff I had no idea what I was looking at. Intrigued, I read a bit more about them and was fascinated by what I learned.

Photographer Brice Bischoff took long-exposure photographs of himself performing a series of dances and movements with large sheets of colored paper to create these surreal, ghostly images capturing the invisibility of time in a material form. The Bronson Caves are a famed location in Griffith Park, Los Angeles that have been used in countless movies and TV shows, and provide the perfect eerie backdrop for Bischoff’s experimentation.
