Vintage Loves has launched a new collection of gorgeous vintage maxi dresses and vintage slips called “Back to the Garden.” The dresses are perfect for summer evenings and picnics in the park…lightweight, floral printed, with sweet little touches of silk and lace. The collection also includes some lovely vintage undergarments, camis and bed jackets.
The vignette for this collection came together rather serendipitously. Our vintage buyer was driving in upstate New York when she spotted the abandoned house, slightly dilapidated, its dusty rose and blue paint peeling, and the lyrics “our house is a very very very fine house with two cats in the yard.” painted on one of its walls… it could not have been more perfect. The photos, shot by Melanie Bendavid, paint a picture so reminiscent of Joni Mitchell and Graham Nash, and their idyllic cottage made famous by the song “Our House.” I could just picture Joni sitting on the front porch wearing one of these dresses and strumming her guitar. I have always loved her style – for me, though, I think I’d toughen up one of the dresses a bit with biker boots and some ripped denim!
Vintage Floral Seersucker Sundress, Vintage Denim Vest, Sugar Mountain Ankle Boot.

This is such a gorgeous post. I love all of the old farmhouses in the northeast, and this one is no exception! The dresses look right at home there, and I imagine Joni would as well.
i have loved joni mitchell since i was in elementary school, and now, many years later, i still love her music and her style
