While we were at Miami Swim 2013, we caught up with the lovely girls behind Beach Riot. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Nicole Hanriot: After designing for Tavik swim for a number of years, she ventured out to create her own label Beach Riot.
The designs for 2013 were fun and sexy with unexpected touches like crochet and lace. Her signature Sophia bikini top was introduced in a number of new prints and colours. The brand’s California vibe was a pleasure to be around while we took a look through the latest styles for 2013.

Here’s an interview with the lady behind the line, Nicole Hanriot:
How would you describe Beach Riot Swim?
Beach Riot is a California beach babe swim brand. It’s a mix between contemporary chic and surfer girl.
What type of girl do you see wearing the swim line?
A boho beach girl or your fashion-forward surfer girl.
How do you get inspired to create a swimwear collection?
I get inspired by a lot of Australian magazines and Australian blogs. I can’t get enough of blogs, they are so inspiring. Also living in Southern California… the beach vibe is very inspiring.
What do you love about Miami when the swim fashion shows are going on?
My favorite thing about Miami during swim week are the amazing fashion shows and all the fashionable people around town. It’s so inspiring.
And lastly… what’s the inspiration behind the 2013 collection?
Spring inspiration is Cabin Fever, woodsy themed and camping. Summer 2013 inspiration is the movie True Romance and an 80’s vibe.
