An Interview: Behind FP Movement

We talked to the buyer behind FP Movement to find out how this new yoga line evolved and why she decided to collaborate with Solow.

You collaborated with Solow to create exclusive FP Movement pieces for the fashionable yogi. Why Solow?
When I first saw the Solow brand, I was attracted to their visual aesthetic. Being a yoga fan and working in fashion, I am always on the lookout for interesting styles that have a twist. Solow’s approach to workout wear was indeed this; their colors and details were more interesting than other brands and their fabrics were delicious, I wanted to wear them instantly. When I met with the creative director Rebecca, her space was filled with fashion magazine tears. I was so inspired by how she would take a detail from Italian Vogue and translate it to yoga wear.

What makes this collaboration so unique?
Fun colors, raw edges, back details and our FP Movement metallic tree label, I love that this gives a subtle shimmer.

What are your favorite items?
The fold over leggings and the coral x top were in my basket as soon as it launched. I am also a huge fan of the printed FP One bike shorts — I love these worn with fun solid colors, and this to me is the ultimate Free People yoga look.

What’s in the future for FP Movement?
Incorporating more prints, fun fashion items and accessories with the Free People personality.
