UPDATE: This post originally ran on October 5th but we’re still loving branches as home decor so we thought we’d share it again!
There is something really organic and beautiful about using branches in your home décor. They bring a rustic element into the home that is perfect for this time of year. Lately we’ve been using a lot of branches in our store displays and merchandising, and I love the natural beauty it brings to our stores. It is definitely inspiring me for home décor ideas as well! The image above is from our Corte Madera store – when I was there over the summer, one of my favorite parts of the display was this moment above the cash wrap – they hung a branch from the ceiling and strung a bunch of string lights over the cash wrap, wrapping them around the branches. Isn’t it magical?
If you can find a large enough branch, you can use it as a place to hang clothing from! As for where we get our branches – our display and store teams are constantly on the lookout! Anytime they come across stray branches on the side of the road or pretty much anywhere, they snatch them up!
Add a delicate element to branches by wrapping them in lace or painting portions of them gold.
Add a pop of color by wrapping some thread around portions of the branch!
I snapped this photo at our Soho store on Fashion’s Night Out. I loved this little jewelry display with branches and twigs.
A branch makes a perfect hanger for necklaces.
Smaller branches work too – hammer some nails into it and you’ve got a jewelry display!
Rather than a plain old curtain rod, use a branch to hang curtains or a tapestry on the wall.
I think these twig antlers by Luke Bartels are far better than the real thing! I bet they’d be pretty easy to make, too.
Two very simple but impactful wall hangings that I love (source 1, source 2).
How would you decorate with branches?
I love all these! The branch antlers are amazing and definitely my favorite though. Definitely will have to DIY that!
Love these! Love nature inspired decor! Very bohemian!
Thanks for sharing!

This is such a brillant idea! I found it so inspiring that I made my own wintery nature and lights decor! You can check the result out here on my blog: http://hollymeetskeith.blogspot.de/2012/11/fairylights-and-piece-of-nature-in-my.html
I am so happy with this branch :) What do you think?
My question is: how do you preserve them so they aren’t delicate and break over time? Are they coated with some kind of resin? Help please. Thanks.
love all the decorating tips, especially photos with branches! here is the result of my room inspired by you!
