2013 Festival Season Trend Prediction

We received an email the other day from a girl asking what we think she should be wearing this festival season, and then it occurred to us… festival season is almost just around the corner! With SXSW in March and then Coachella in April, we better get our thinking caps on and start pondering what will be cool to wear.

Every spring/summer we head to festivals here in the states to document the fashion there with street style shoots. We get to see a lot of different looks year after year. Last summer we saw a lot of girls wearing bralettes with denim cutoffs, and there was also a street vibe in which girls were wearing wedge sneakers and sport tops.

This festival season we believe the tables will be turned. We’re feeling strongly about long, feminine floral maxi dresses (quite the opposite from the lingerie bralette and shorts)  worn with rugged boots and either a little back pack or a cool cross body bag accessorized with our favorite round frame sunglasses.

Here’s our festival forecast wishlist:

For some festival fun, team a neon bralette under your floral maxi dress.

Don’t forget your favorite statement leather jacket for the night!

What are you guys planning to wear this festival season?

  1. I love it!!! My ex always told me that I was too short to wear maxi dresses, that I looked ridiciolous in them. I have started wearing them lately and I get so many compliments, in fact, many people say I look taller and skinnier in maxis! So, the maxi dress/skirt is my new wardrobe staple. I love this festival look, so beautiful!!

  2. @Jenny Ekberg Your ex was a fool! I totally agree that maxis create a long line on the body. I am 5’5″ and they are a wardrobe staple for me as well. I am careful to stay away from certain maxi styles that do indeed make me look very frumpy. But most are ultra flattering.

  3. y’all should check out street and festival fashion in the blue ridge mountains! our festivals down here are very different, i LIVED in maxi skirts and bralettes this summer and fall here, especially during the evening at a festival because it gets chilly! please come check out boone, nc (or even asheville) and i think yall will find some very stylish and confident gals!
