What To Pack For A Yoga Retreat

This is an exciting week for us! Yesterday we debuted our second short film, Roshambo: Rock, and this weekend several Free People girls are heading to Napa Valley for BottleRock music festival. I am also heading to California, but for a different reason – I will be attending a three day yoga retreat at Sagrada Wellness in San Luis Obispo. I have practiced yoga regularly before but I’ve never done a retreat and I couldn’t be more excited. In addition to yoga, the retreat also includes hiking, healthy meals and plenty of time for meditation and self reflection. I will be keeping a daily journal that I will share here on the blog upon my return!  I’ll be documenting the entire experience, from what I’m wearing and listening to, to what I eat. For now, take a look at what I’m packing for the retreat!

Above: FP Movement Printed Yoga Mat, Criss Cross Sports Bra, Printed Yoga Shorts, Elastic Hair Ties.

Some additional items I’ll be bringing: The Downtown Leather Backpack, Retro Classic Runner, Side Printed Legging, and that small jar below the sneakers? That is Tiger Balm – one of my essential remedies for sore muscles!

The last thing I’ll be throwing in my suitcase is the Embroidered Gauze Top – a perfect little lightweight nightie.

I’m a little bit nervous about my first yoga retreat! Any advice you guys might have is more than welcome :).

I’m a yoga practitioner and yoga instructor but have never been to a retreat either. I’ve heard that practicing patience and keeping an open mind throughout the trip is important, especially on the way there as things might not go as smoothly as the retreat itself. You don’t want to show up completely frazzled, but then again that’s what yoga is for! Have a great time!

The best place to start your search for a yoga retreat is with your yoga studio. There could even be some great packages available. Often times the studio will negotiate for a group booking, which could be a big saving and you will be with others you know. The other option is the Internet. If you do a search online for yoga retreats in the USA, yoga retreats in Costa Rica, find a yoga retreat in Connecticut or wherever you happen to live then you can investigate what is available and what is provided during the retreat.

Feel the dynamic relationship between the inner and outer positive and primal energies to get away from stress of modern life and the best wellness experience. Detoxify your body and get rid of stress of your mind and revitalize soul within the serenity of natural panorama and power of Yoga.

I’m going to a month long yoga retreat / YTT certification in Nicaragua two weeks from today! Be sure to pack a yoga towel / microfiber towel for when you get sweaty. Also, a natural mat disinfectant spray since your mat will see a lot of use. I plan on not wearing any makeup, just sunscreen. I too plan on bringing a journal do document everything that happens so that I can put it on the blog when I get home (no computer for distractions) ! Peace ♥

Going to yoga retreats for the first time is totally stepping into the unknown but you shouldn’t feel lost. Look at it as a new great adventure that lays ahead, and an opportunity to learn a lot about yourself. I am sure that your journal will be filled with plenty of useful things you will start using in your daily life once you get back home.
I absolutely adore the things you are packing for this yoga retreat. You will look so stylish!
