Since the 4th of July is just around the corner, I wanted to share one of my favorite summertime drink recipes with you all that is perfect for the holiday — spiked lemonade! I love lemonade in the summertime, and if you happen to be entertaining this year, this is the perfect recipe to serve to your guests. It’s fast and easy to make, and everyone will love the little festive touches it has. Here’s how to make it:
Spiked Lemonade
(This recipe yields enough to fill about 3 regular-sized mason jars.)
Ingredients:
2 cups chilled lemon-flavored sparkling water or club soda
1/2 cup chilled citrus-flavored vodka
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup orange liqueur
Frozen blueberries
Ice
Lemons for garnishing
*Leave out the vodka and orange liqueur to make this recipe non-alcoholic.
Directions:
1) Combine the first 5 ingredients into a tall glass carafe or serving jug of your preference. Stir until all of the sugar has been dissolved.
2) Fill your serving glasses with crushed ice and pour in the lemonade mixture. I chose to serve mine in mason jars and tied some twine around the rim of each jar for decoration.
3) Take a fresh lemon and cut some circular slices for garnishing.
Voila! Finish off by adding some frozen blueberries and festive straws and you are good to go. Happy 4th of July!
