XPoNential Music Festival Highlights

As I mentioned on Friday, this weekend I attended one of my favorite festivals — the XPoNential Music Festival in Camden, NJ.  What I love most about this festival is the laid back vibe and the opportunity to see some of my favorite bands in an intimate setting, and this year did not disappoint.  The festival kicked off on Friday with performances by Michael Kiwanuka and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, followed by an amazing Saturday with sets from Dr. John, Lord Huron, Dr. Dog, and the Lumineers.  Sunday was unfortunately rained out for the most part, but that didn’t stop the Americanarama festival from taking place (XPN festival attendees got access to the lawn for these shows) with My Morning Jacket, Wilco, and the one and only Bob Dylan.  The highlight of my weekend was definitely Friday night, meeting and interviewing Jade and Nora of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, before their high-energy performance. They are such sweet, talented women and it was amazing to talk to them for a little while!  Here are some photos from the weekend — more to come, including the interview with Jade and Nora!

The first band I saw on Friday was The Districts — I wasn’t familiar with them before but they’re a local band and they rock!  I definitely recommend checking them out.

I went all days and it was amazing! By far my favorite music festival featuring local artists, as well as some bigger named musicians! I loved the meet and greet with all of the performers, too!
